I remember watching this at the time and Shiroma Miru being my N°1 pick from episode one and being pissed she sisnt make it but it all worked out since i love Izone and Miru has been doing some really Sexy Gravures with NMB48 that she wouldnt do in Izone lol. Trust me... you will start noticing her towards the middle of the show

- PD48 is definitely a new concept yeah with the Jpop+Kpop collab and culture clashes. There are 57 Korean trainees from 27 labels and 39 Japanese contestants from 5 subgroups of AKB48. Btw, AKB48 is definitely a very popular group but the reason they’re even participating in this (and even send some of their most popular trainees) is because they were kinda stagnating around that time. AKB is a really old group actually (created in 2005) and with most of the “first generation” fans slowly losing interest it was important for them to gain new fans. They hoped to lure in Kpop fans through PD48 since Kpop is so popular globally. Gotta be honest with ya: probably didn’t have as much effect as they hoped but it did help of course. - You know about AKB48 so I won’t have to explain that. I assume you also know about the Senbatsu? Basically a yearly (until 2018, the year of PD48, not a coincidence but I’ll explain in a later episode) popularity contest where fans vote for their favourites and high rankers get benefits. 26 of the PD48 contestants ranked in the Top 120 and 9 ranked in the Top 22 (so AKB didn’t just send some random trainees). Those are: Matsui Jurina (1), Sakura (3), Muto Tomu (7), Nako (9), Tanaka Miku (10, Nako’s best friend), Takahashi Juri (12, in Rocket Punch), Kojima Mako (19), Shiroma Miru (20), Iwatate Saho (22). Hitomi ranked 82 btw.
