I Know Where I've Been is my favourite song from this musical!

My favourite musical!

Thank you so much for your reaction for Hairspray!! I really love watching this musical. It's fun, it's vibrant, it has a very powerful message that's emotional, and the cast for each of its characters is phenomenal. :) I love John Travolta as Edna Turnblad. He's hilarious as Tracy's mother. And I love John Travolta in pretty much all of the movies he's ever been in. Like you... I love Grease too. I grew up watching it along with a number of musicals, so musicals are among my favorite movie genre to watch. I'm so happy you love them too, as you love Hairspray like you loved Les Miserables and The Greatest Showman. I also love seeing actors I also love like Christopher Walken (Wilbur Turnblad), Queen Latifah, James Marsden, Zac Efron, Jerry Stiller (Mr. Pinky), and Michelle Pfeiffer. Amanda Bynes is also cute in this movie. This was back when she was still making good movies, before she went off the deep end and sadly screwed up her life. As for the newer, or unknown actors at the time... I really love Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad, Elijah Kelley as Seaweed, Taylor Parks as Little Inez, and Brittany Snow as Amber Von Tussle. Every character in this movie is just fun and I enjoy this movie through and through. As for my favorite songs from this movie... I love Queen Latifah's song... I Know Where I've Been as they're marching. I also love Without Love sung by most of the main cast just after the cops break up the march, You Can't Stop the Beat sung by the entire cast at the pageant, and of course... Run and Tell That sung by Seaweed and Little Inez. They're all fun, but these songs stand out to me that much more than the rest. Overall... I absolutely love the main storyline of these people fighting to come together as equals and to not constantly be seen by the colors of their skin. It's so tragic that racism exists. I hate it. We are all equals. The colors of our skin shouldn't matter and yet there are so many people who hate for no reasons at all. They hate just to hate. It was far worse back in the 60s when this movie was set in, but racism is very much alive today too and it breaks my heart. Thankfully, this movie ends on a high note and with a heartfelt and happy message, as those who are Black and White officially become integrated. :) Thank you so much! I really had a lot of fun rewatching Hairspray again with you. :) I can't wait for more movie reactions from you like always! Until next time...
