Thank you so much for another fun reaction for the last of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies... Dad Men Tell No Tales! Like you... I love that this movie brings Will and Elizabeth back into the storyline, as their son Henry seeks out Poseidon's trident so he can break his father's curse. While the last movie was excellent as well, I really missed Will and Elizabeth, just as I mention in my comments for On Stranger Tides. And I love that Henry seeks for a way to help free his father so they can be together again.
Once again... Jack, Barbosa, and Mr. Gibbs are all back as well and I love their dynamic, as they seek out Poseidon's trident with Henry in order to defeat Salazar... a villain who also has been cursed in a state of death in seeking to slaughter all pirates.
I love the design and animation of these villains, reflecting the look of them having been blown apart and drowned in the ocean within the Bermuda Triangle. It's brilliant.
I love Henry and Carina as characters. I love Henry's overall storyline and his dynamic and love story with Carina, that I feel is definitely stronger than the love story throughout On Stranger Tides between Philip and Syrena. It's not quite as strong as Will's and Elizabeth's love story, but Henry and Carina are still beautiful together.
As for the big reveal that Carina is Barbosa's daughter... I really love this twist, and it's tragic that Carina learned just as Barbosa sacrificed his life in order to save her. I love seeing a different side of Barbosa, and while we know that he cares about Jack, Will, and Elizabeth to some degree, as they'ere all friends in spite of him never showing he cares, it's nice to see this softer side of Barbosa and to actually really see him care about someone above himself.
The battles throughout this movie, like they always are, were brilliant, exciting, hilarious, and just a lot of fun. I love the action and the swordfighting.
Most of all, I love the end scene as Will, Elizabeth, and Henry are reunited at long last, as Jack looks on from the Black Pearl, then upon seeing Will and Elizabeth kiss, Jack states... "What a truly revolting sight." This overall scene is beautiful.
Thank you so much for another fun reaction! And thank you for reacting to these amazing movies for us. I can't wait for many more movie reactions from you, so until next time...
