2019-12-13 19:47:10 +0000 UTCThank you so much for your fantastic reaction to Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens!! I really love this movie, as much as I love all the rest. And wow... there are so many new characters, all of whom I really love. But first... No, Han!!!! Why did he have to die?!! Boo!!! Sadly... I know why Han Solo was killed off in this movie. It's tragic and I both hated and loved this moment between Han and Ben when Ben gives in further to the Dark side. Unfortunately, Harrison Ford didn't want to play Han Solo after the original movie, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, because he was afraid of becoming typecast as Han Solo, and it isn't a role that he particularly enjoyed playing as much as many others such as Indian Jones, who he loved playing. However, George Lucas paid him well to continue on, even to come back on as Han in this movie too, so many years later. However, on one condition... that they find a good way to kill Han Solo off, so he wouldn't have to come back for Episodes VIII and IX. It's sad, because Han Solo is one of my all time favorite characters from any movies and/or TV series. And Harrison Ford is phenomenal as Han Solo. I love seeing Han, Luke, and Leia, as well as Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C3-P0 return to the Star Wars Saga again, even if it is so many years later. And I love their overall storylines, especially Han's. He is hilarious like always. And especially in the moment when Han and Chewie first appear onscreen upon arriving aboard the Millennium Falcon as Han states... "Chewie... we're home", in the end when we finally see Luke as Rey appears before, him on the island, and in the moment when Han and Leia are first reunited... Such beautiful and amazing moments and I get emotional every time. I can't help but cry. As for the new characters introduced... we have Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, BB-8, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, Maz, Supreme Leader Snoke, and General Hux. I love most of them. I especially love Poe Dameron and Rey. I also like Finn too, as well as Kylo Ren and Maz. However, I don't really care all that much for Snoke or Hux. I love Poe because for one... I love actor, Oscar Isaac who plays him, and I really love his character because he's a strong character. He's fun, funny, smart, and he's a phenomenal pilot. I love his overall storyline, as well as his friendship with BB-8. They are so cute together. BB-8 is adorable. I love R2-D2 and C3-P0, but BB-8 easily holds up to them as well. I love the sounds he makes and while he can't speak aside from his noises he makes, we can understand exactly what he's saying, just as we can with R2-D2 as well. As for Rey... I love her character as well. I love the mystery behind who she really is and how she was chosen by the Force, then struggles to become a Jedi. I just love her spunk and strength we see in her. And I love her friendship with Han, and how close they become, which makes Han Solo's death that much sadder when she screams out upon her and Ben witnessing Ben kill him. I love the friendship between Poe and Finn as well, and Finn's friendship with Rey too. I also like the idea of Finn being a Storm Trooper, taken and trained from birth to kill for the New Order, only for him to rebel upon being unable to kill for them. As for Kylo Ren/Ben Solo... I love that he turns out to be Han's and Leia's son, and that it's revealed Luke trained him in the ways of the Force until Ben became corrupted by the Dark Side and Snoke's manipulations. His overall storyline is tragic. And yet a part of me hates him for falling so hard for Snoke's lies enough to get him to kill his own father. This is even more tragic. And Snoke... while he's somewhat interesting, I don't like him much because I feel like he's too much like the Emperor/Darth Sidious. I guess I hoped for a different kind of character who could manipulate Ben Solo into falling into the Dark Side. For me... Snoke is weak in comparison to the Emperor. As for my favorite moments, aside from the ones I already mentioned with our three beloved characters... I love it when Rey and Finn first board the Millennium Falcon and they fight to escape from the storm troopers trying to kill them. It's amazing to see the Falcon again and in a fight, just as it is wonderful to see Han, Luke, and Leia too. I also love seeing the Millennium Falcon land on the ice plant straight from lightspeed. The Empire and the New Order may hate the Millennium Falcon, but I love it. In every Star Wars movie, someone at some point throughout them, someone always calls the Falcon a piece of junk, or garbage, which is hilarious. But to me... it's the most beautiful and incredible ship of them all. Overall... I love this movie and its characters. So thank you again, so much for your reaction for it! And actually, after watching episodes 1,2, and 3 again with you, I realize that I really didn't like those movies. The idea for the story was great, but the acting really killed me... Like REALLY killed me. Haha.

2019-11-27 22:02:41 +0000 UTCRey is not a Jedi (when you asked when she touched the lightsaber). Jedi are an order who study the Force and have specific ways and rules. There are Force users (Jedi, Sith, etc) and people who are Force sensitive. Someone may be able to use the Force without training who are naturally "strong with the Force" as they say.
