Thank you so much for such a fun reaction, for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith!! While I also love The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith is my favorite of the three Prequels. I love, love, love Anakin's turn to the Dark Side. So many people dislike these movies, especially Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. I felt he was a little weak in Attack of the Clones, but he most certainly improved in Revenge of the Sith and his turn is incredible. It gives me goosebumps every time.
I especially love the fight between Anakin and Obi Wan Kenobi. It's tragic, exhilarating, and again, the acting between both actors... Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor (Obi Wan) is phenomenal. And plus... I love the look and design of the lava planet known in the Star Wars universe as Mustafar. Incredible!
As for Padme and her death, as well as Leia's recollection of her, or the possibly her adopted mother... It's tragic that Padme dies by Anakin's own hand. His fear, anger, and hatred overpowers his senses and he nearly chokes her to death, believing that she took Obi Wan's side and turned against him. She could have survived and yet she dies because she's broken hearted by Anakin's turn and betrayal. Thankfully, she is able to live long enough to give birth to Luke and Leia.
In regards to Leia's recollection of her mother... in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Leia tells Luke that she vaguely remembers her mother was kind and very beautiful, yet that she was sad. Now... like you said, we believe Leia was talking about her adopted mother. And because she didn't know in that moment that her birth father was Anakin/Darth Vader, and therefore that her birth mother was Padme, we are led to believe that her adopted mother is who Leia was talking about. And that is most likely who she meant. However, I also have a slightly different theory too... Because we know that Leia's strongest ability from The Empire Strikes Back is that she is able to sense people's emotions and feelings, I suspect that a part of her maybe sensed Padme's sadness as she was being born. No one remembers the day of the their birth of course, but I suspect that it's possible Leia might have remembered a little, enough to remember her mother being very sad, and it's possible that she believes she was sensing her adopted mother's feelings on account of not knowing who her birth parents really were. Does all that makes sense? What do you think?
I also love the fight in the end between Yoda and Darth Sidious, and discovering how it is Yoda comes to be in exile on the Dagobah System shown in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Incredible, and beautifully choreographed.
And yes... seeing all of the Jedi be killed is tragic and the whole montage of seeing them dying makes me cry every time I watch these movies, especially when Anakin appears among the younglings to kill them too, and when the teenage Jedi is killed saving Senator Organa... Leia's adopted father. So sad. The Empire is evil.
Overall... I really love this movie, just as I love all the rest of the Star Wars movies too. Thank you so much for your reaction! I am loving watching these movies again with you, as you watch them for the first time. And I can't wait for many more to come! Until next time...

I would absolutely love it if you chose to react to Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker for us here on Patreon! :) However, if you decide you would prefer to see it in the theaters, that's fine too. :)

The other streaming service you were trying to think of is Disney+. That’s the one that Star Wars is on.
I’d love you to react to episode 9, but you must do what you want. Like I said with Endgame, I would never want to deprive you of the cinema experience if that’s what you wanted!
Thank you so much for your reaction. It’s amazing to me how even though I’ve seen this film many times, when I watch it with you I always seem to pick up on more details or subtlety that I haven’t seen before.
It is so tragic what happens to Anakin and Padmé. Like Amanda said, I definitely think the Jedi has a big role in their downfall, but of course Darth Sidious was manipulating things for a very long time. A significant part of the reason for episode 1 is to get Sidious elected as Chancellor.

One of the reasons I like star wars as a whole, it can make you go beyond the simple good vs evil sruggle. The Jedi's hubris played a part in their own demise just as the manipulation of the sith. Bringing balance doesn't necessarily mean only getting rid of the sith, the scales of power would still be heavily influenced by the good side. It always makes me think, just like a good story should.
