lbr I think we've all been Team Nathan in that season. I think what Lucas was trying to say is not that Haley's mistakes were something Nathan should just brush over, but he meant more of Nathan not giving up on his marriage yet. Lucas still has hope that Haley will come back and work things out - he cares about both Haley and Nathan so much and he can't fathom how his best friend could hurt his brother like that. And Nathan doesn't get why Haley left either. I don't even think he wouldn't forgive her kiss with Chris, it's more that she left for the tour and he is trying to understand why she did that, what she needs to "figure out". As for their relationship: things always need to get worse before they get better I guess.

Honestly I hate Mark Schwan, and his creepy pervy ass for quite a few reasons, and he was so messy with Haley’s character in season 2. He just wanted Bethany Joy and Tyler Hilton to do a tour or something, and decided to write it badly. But he was always kind of a dick about Bethany Joy, I recall some message board/forum where after an episode he’s like “Did you think her hair looked awful in tonight’s episode? It’s OK so did I.” Sorry for that random rant, just when I think of how Mark wrote season 2 Naley/Haley it pisses me off. Lol.
