This is also true. Which really adds to my theory behind his stories as well. Thanks! :)

About the different stories that the Joker tells about his scars, yes it maintains the fear that evokes this character but not only, everyone knows how complicated it is to give a origin story to the Joker because originally he hasn't one or at least he has too much to speculate and say which would be the real one, it reinforces the mystery of this character, and in this film it was not about where he came from but what kind of villain he was, so i think it was more to stay in the mystery of his origins, like the fact that he has no known dna, imprint or dental recognition. In the film he keeps the mystery of who he was before Batman.

I also preferred Katie Holmes as Rachel, I felt her and Christian Bale had much more chemistry and idk I just saw her as Rachel but oh well

First and foremost... thank you so much for this fun and fabulous reaction for such a phenomenal movie. I really love this movie, just like I love all three movies within this trilogy. But this movie... The Dark Knight definitely stands above the other two, and a lot of it is thanks to Heath Ledger as the Joker. Christian Bale is brilliant in the role as Batman too, of course.
Now... this trilogy is a group of three movies that are not connected to any other movies in any way, not even the newer Batman movies with Ben Afleck in movies, nor in the classic Batman movies. There are no more movies within the Dark Knight Universe. And if you ask me, and most everyone else... this Dark Knight trilogy is far above the other movies, especially those in the Batman Versus Superman Universe with Ben Afleck. I would not recommend those movies because in my opinion, they are terrible and Ben Afleck is a terrible Batman. The Dark Knight Trilogy is outstanding!! :)
As for Heath Ledger as the Joker... you're absolutely right that he's phenomenal because you don't see Heath Ledger in his character whatsoever. If you see Heath Ledger in any other movie he's in, he plays no other characters even close to this role. And in all those other characters, you see Heath Ledger because they're all kind of the same. I'm not putting him down in any way because i love a number of other movies he's in too. I'm just saying... there is no hint of that same kind of character in his version of the Joker. Not in the slightest, and the Joker is exceptional. It's so tragic that Heath Ledger died so soon after he finished filming this movie. And sadly, because he immersed himself so much into this character, it's been said that it added to why Heath Ledger died. He started drinking more and taking drugs to help him sleep because he struggled with having to become so dark and twistedly evil as the Joker. And sadly these things added to whatever else might have helped cause his death too. It's so, so sad.
In regards to your confusion about why the Joker tells different stories to people about his scars... it is simply to help add to the fear people hold for the Joker, which is exactly what the Joker wants. For people to be afraid of him. And these stories about his scars make definitely make people more terrified of him.
Christian Bale as Batman is phenomenal as well. I really love how he portrays Bruce Wayne as a playboy and hero, then how he fights with his fists and gadgets as Batman, who is hero just like Bruce Wayne is, even though no one else sees him as such. I also love his banter back and forth with Alfred, as well as with Gordon too.
I also love Alfred (Michael Caine), Gordon (Gary Oldman), and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman). They are all played by great actors who I've loved for quite some time from a number of phenomenal movies too. And i love each of their characters very much. While I love Batman in this trilogy, he could never hold his own in these movies without either of these other characters, who are pivotal in this Universe.
And as for Harvey Dent, played by Aaron Eckhart... I really love him as Harvey, and then when he also becomes the infamous Batman villain... Two-Face. While he isn't as good of a villain as the Joker is, I still really love Harvey's transformation from being Gotham's White Knight, to becoming this villain twisted and split into two personalities. Also... I do agree with you that while I love Harvey when he becomes Two-Face, the actor who plays him definitely could have and should have added more to his character by way of how he acted with the injuries he received. Heath Ledger did so phenomenally well with his scars. Aaron Eckhart should have acted like he had been severely injured too. However, I don't hold this against him or his character in any way. I still love his character.
Overall... I love this movie because it's just exceptional in every way. It's exhilarating, it's action packed, it's funny, it's terrifying in the best of ways, and the overall storyline is exceptional. I love that the Joker does all he does simply because he loves spreading chaos and the thrill of his chaos. I love that he doesn't do anything for the lust of power or money. Simply for the thrill. And I love how that Bruce Wayne/Batman is the complete opposite. That his drive is to save all the people of Gotham from the terror villains like the Joker creates.
I love the scenes in the end as the people on the two boats prove to the Joker that Batman is right to believe that there are good and decent people in the world. Both in those who are innocent, and in those who are criminals as well. I love the moments when the criminal tosses the detonator out the window when he refuses to kill the innocents, while the innocents also refuse to kill the criminals in spite of the others being criminals. It's brilliant!
As for my favorite scene throughout this movie, aside from loving everything involving the Joker... I absolutely love the very ending between Gordon, his family, Batman, and Harvey Two-Face. Overall... it's a phenomenal and very emotional moment, as Gordon pleads with Harvey not to hurt his family and to hurt him instead. And I love, love, love the end moment between Gordon and Batman, when Batman tells Gordon he can be the villain people need him to be so that they don't lose faith in the man who never should have broken down enough to become the true villain Harvey had become. I love how Gordon pleas with Batman not to take on such a burden because he knows Batman doesn't deserve to be seen as anything other than who he truly is... the true hero. And I love how Gordon thanks Batman for saving his son's life, even though Batman has told him that he would never have to say thank you. I love that Gordon says thank you to Batman anyways.
Thank you so much for your phenomenal reaction once more!! :) I really appreciate it, and I was so excited to see that you had posted this a few days early too. So thank you! I can't wait for your final reaction for this trilogy... to The Dark Rises!!! Until then, my friend...

Hell yeah, thanks you, what a surprise !
This film for me is incredible in terms of performance of the characters, especially Heath Ledger, who I believe was to play in the sequel to Christopher Nolan. The character's psychology is fascinating, because on certain things he was not wrong, such as the fact that if he announced someone's death in the press and that if it happened nobody would panic because it is part of " plan ", he said it but if he attacked without warning as for the exploding hospital, everyone panics. Even if it is horrible, as long as the human mind can record information before it happens and prepare for it, there is no panic. And he's right for that, no matter the horrific crime aimed at happening, as long as it was announced before we can prepare for the shock. I don't know if it's very clear, but on the other hand he was wrong in thinking that they were going to blow each other up. It would have been so interesting to have a sequel with this character. Finally, it's nice that you enjoyed this film, it is full of tension, because we go from one disaster to another and without pause, we sometimes have the impression that it will stop but it is going up in crescendo . It is a very well made film. Glad you like the first two parts ...
I wonder if you are interested maybe to watch Joker (movie 2019)?

One of the best noir suspense thrillers ever made. And also I guess there are some comic book references in there.
