By the way, whatever the last episode is before the hiatus, won't be the last episode of the season. When the show is able to resume, they will continue to have a regular season length. Supergirl we put cut off at episode 20.

Damn Alice breaking my heart once again. I think the right thing was for her to go to Arkham so she can get some help, but it doesn't feel like they put her there to get her the help she needs and more like they put her there to get rid of her. That kind of pisses me off. The parallel of last episode where we see her biggest fear was being left behind and locked up again and the fact that that is exactly what happens this episode .. Well done writers. Whatever soft spot Alice had for Kate (proven by the few times where she saved her) I think is now gone. Next time we see Alice I feel she will have no mercy. Not to mention that she is now a sitting target for Safiyah. Kate herself is in a bad mental place right now and perhaps that is why she didn't realise the gravity of the choice (to lie to her..not lock her up) she made. Such a good episode. Batwoman keeps on getting better.

You know what, I absolutely had the same fears you had when batwoman started: that they would just make Kate's sexuality a box to check like they did it on supergirl. and I'm so glad I was wrong.
Kate has more to herself than being gay obviously, but her sexuality is just as much a part of her as her sister troubles, her struggle on how to be batwoman properly, her strained relationship with her dad, etc. All of this is shown all the time, her sexuality is not an asterisk in her life, but a vital part of who she is. but it also isn't ALL she is. I really appreciate the batwoman writers constantly evolving all the characters into more complex human beings and never forgetting one of them to fit the story. Because on Supergirl the writers make the characters fit the plot and on Batwoman they make the plot fit the characters - that's the real difference in storytelling. And viewers of shows commit to a show every week because they love the characters, so if you constantly sacrifice the growth of your characters for the plot, you'll end up disappointing all the viewers. the batwoman writers know that and made all the fan favorite characters like Alice and Mary even more prominent and gave the other characters like Kate, Luke and Jacob more layers so that they become more interesting instead of just focusing on moving the story along, they spend time letting the characters evolve.

I think next week will be the last episode before the hiatus as the episode list hasn't been updated
