Love Rey and Ben. I hate that he died, he was the best part of the Sequel trilogy. Him and Rey had so much potential

Great reaction to this movie :-) I loved it so much and consider it my favourite Star Wars movie next to New Hope and Rogue One. For me it was a total love letter to the series and I do think many people were too harsh and overly critical of it and actually missed significant themes in it. The theme of the movie is really identity, family and inheritance- Rey at the end chooses her destiny and the name Skywalker to honour Luke, Leia and Ben's legacy and carry on the fight of her second true family. Leia makes her final act reaching out to what remains of the good in her son's soul and I find that a beautiful and touching way to incorporate Leia into the story and really make her have an impact on it despite Carrie's sad passing. I know for you on your first viewing you felt the film wasn't as meaningful because you wanted Luke, Leia and Han to have a bigger part in the defeat of the Emperor- they actually did spirtually and I find that such an emotional anchor to the movie. Rey takes both Luke and Leia's weapons with her to fight him, the entire Jedi are with her in the final encounter also (its great to hear the voices of Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda, Qui Gon etc willing her to rise), Han's memory allows Kylo to move on and take the final step to the light after his mother's sacrifice showed him the way and that he truly could come home. And his sacrifice to save Rey is a great reverse parallel to what Anakin couldn't do to save Padme's life. That would have made the restored soul of his grandfather so proud. Luke also gives Rey the strength to face her fear and make her realise she will be finishing Leia's journey for her also. So i think all the original trio had a great impact on the final victory in their respective ways. The Emperor's return is strongly hinted at in the movie as being a result of cloning and I don't mind that his return is never fully explained- I actually like the mystery and don't believe every little thing has to be spelled out to be entertaining plus it is great to see such a truly awesome villain in the series again. Also I felt it was pretty much hinted that what Finn was going to tell Rey was he was Force Sensitive- he senses the oncoming presence of Kylo on Pasaana and where the shield transmitter is on the main destroyer and also that Rey is dying from afar. I also loved the new characters Zori Bliss and Jannah- her final scene seems to be being misinterpreted by some fans- i read that there was actually supposed to be a hint there that Jannah is Lando's lost daughter. And i feel this movie gave C3PO his best and funniest involvement in a Star Wars movie ever :-) So I totally loved it and have to say in the final 40 minutes there were so many scenes that made me tear up it was like a rollercoaster. Anyway loved the reaction and now i'm here on Patreon I plan to enjoy your full reactions to the other SW films too after seeing the edits on youtube.

I enjoyed the movie just not the way they ended ray and Ben’s relationship most of what was happened I found predictable throughout while watching it. But known the less still fun to watch the saga for theses movies!

Not a fan of this movie at all, but your reaction made it worth it. The problem is that there are way too many inconsistencies like the fact that Palpatine is back with no explanation and we just have to believe that he somehow survived being thrown down a gigantic hole. There's so many smoking guns that were never used, so it fails Check-Off guns (the rule that if you have a "gun" you have to use it by the third act). We never get the answer of what Finn was going to tell Rey, we never get closure on how and why Palpatine is even there in the first place, and then the romance between Rey and Ben are forced so hard, not only that but if Rey is claiming to be a Skywalker, that makes Ben and Rey related. And we have another instance of incest.... 🤦🏻♀️ It's not even consistent with the rest of the sequel trilogy. Honestly I would rank the movies as the following:
Empire Strikes Back
Revenge of the Sith
Rogue One
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
Phantom Menace
The Last Jedi
Solo
Rise of Skywalker
Attack of the Clones
Rubi Moon

I read a review for this movie and I think it summed it up perfectly. “This movie was fucking entertaining and had me gripped the whole way through, the relationship between Rey and Ben was so exciting to watch. However about 24 hours after I watched it I started to realise how many inconsistencies and unexplained answers there were” I think this is the main reason why most critics hated it and the audience loved it. I personally loved it, however I do see the flaws. Which doesn’t really change it for me.
