One Tree Hill 4x09 FULL REACTION

Comments

Dan left the game because he clearly couldnt bare to see his son to the same thing he did and make the same mistakes and have to live with it forever hence why he smiled after hearing on the radio that Nathan was playing properly again so he turned around & went back. Also it showed Dan walking out while whitey was talking because he said "trust me...it will stay with you" showing it stayed with Dan because he was selfish and stupid during his state championship too but thankfully nathan changed his mind and realised what is important thanks to Haley

Great distinction. People can become defined as horrible people during certain times. It doesn’t mean that they’re always that way or that they’re down to the core horrible. However, sometimes people go down that path. It’s all about what you grow into and if you work to be and become better and Brooke does just that.

Dydra Arnold

Brooke does have a beautiful heart but objectively speaking, she really was a horrible person during this first half season like I don't think that means she's ALWAYS a horrible person or that she's destined to be a horrible person but the cracks at Peyton's moms ...... like repeatedly........ even Rachel looked at her like WTF Brooke???

Sara Peterson

I loved how the other girls took care of Haley when she was in pain because of all the stress. They were not about to let anything happen to her and that scene at the hospital will always be a favourite of mine. Bevin's "thank you" while the others called the nurse names is just golden. She's such a lovable dork, bless her soul. And then Naley finding out the gender of their baby, oh my heart. Haley telling Nathan about it is so sweet and beautiful. Also "You did it. We did it." My babies, I seriously love them with all of my heart. I've watched a lot of shows and ship a lot of different couples, but no one will ever be as special to me as Naley. I know it's just a tv show, but they make me believe in love.

Anna

Gosh, that ending had me in tears. I don't think I've ever been this stressed out in my life. Haley getting hit by Dante absolutely crushed me and broke my soul. I always say how much I love Nathan and Brooke, and I do, but Haley has been the love of my life since the beginning. She deserves the world and for this to happen to her while she tries to protect Nathan, ugh, my heart can't take this. Nathan was in over his head with money problems and going to Dante was a bad idea, but he's young and he didn't know what else to do. He kept saying that he could take whatever Dante would do to him, but as soon as something bad happens to Haley it's a totally different story. Dante most likely died because of the impact, but Nathan didn't know that at the moment. He didn't want to just stand there and do nothing while the person he loves is lying unconcious and badly hurt on the ground. It was nice of Dan taking the fall, protect Nathan and letting him be with Haley. It showed that he actually does have a heart deep, deep down and that he truly cares about his son.

Anna

Listen, I love Brooke, and I always will, but she took it too far here. I can't defend her actions or make excuses. It doesn't matter how hurt, mad, betrayed and sad she is, there's some lines you just don't cross. You never joke about someone's moms's deaths, not under any circumstances. Saying those things to her best friend was horrible and so beneath her. I expected more from Brooke. It doesn't make her a horrible person, but in that exact moment she was a horrible friend to Peyton. Although I love this episode and it's one of my all time favourite tv episodes, a part of me has been dreading it because of that scene. I will however say how much I appreciated that Brooke and Peyton got to talk it out at least a bit. I don't think the ice has completely melted between them yet, but they're getting there.

Anna

Okay so I’m sorry but you are so amazing to watch. We don’t think you’re crazy, you’re just taking by the show and that’s amazing to see !! I screamed, laughed, cried like if it was the 1st time I watched. This episode is a doozy. Leyton were amazing and I’m so happy we don’t have to wait another week for the doozy that is 4x10!! Love x

Enzo

FREAKING YES

Enzo

OMG SAME 👀

thisismaria27

Don’t know about you guys but my most anticipated moment was seeing Juli react to the black and white screen. Knew she’d freak out.

Nathan

The game was handled really well in this episode and whoever were the sports coordinators for this show really treat the game with respect and really are able to capture the magic of high school sports. You can feel like you're right there on that court with Lucas and Nathan and Skills. I also appreciate that no matter how big or small a character is, they are treated with respect and complexity and they matter. Every single one of these characters love them or hate them, matter on this show, even one shot characters like Anna, Felix, and Derek. There are no small characters on this show because even the smallest character impacts this show, and I appreciate it a lot as I feel like there's a character for everyone even if they can't 100% relate. It's like these characters that show up for one or two episodes could have just been tossed around and the main characters could have had all the attention, but that's not how it works on this show. Every character in the moment feels like a major character on this show because they are. And that's why I believe this show is so good. You don't just care or not care about one, you care about all of them. Even if you hate them, you still care about what they do because you know it's going to affect everyone.

Rubi Moon

I agree! Even though there are only few close bonding moments between Peyton and Brooke these past few seasons, it’s clear that they are more than just best friends- they’re like sisters. So Brooke is lashing out more towards her since they are so close & it makes her hurt even more.

heather

I remember you were hating on the love triangle but man it’s good to finally see more Leyton 🤧

Angel Flores

Damn, I just wrote a really long comment, and I think it got deleted by Patreon or something. So I guess I'll try and shorten my comment: I think that people are wrong when they say that Peyton and Brooke don't seem like best friends. If they weren't true best friends, they wouldn't hate each other so much in these moments. Peyton is really the only person Brooke has had her entire life because Brooke's parents CHOSE to abandon her. So when Peyton, the ONE person she felt like she could always rely on betrayed her not once, but TWICE in the span of a year, it really hurt. And while it's not excused, it makes sense that Brooke lashed out and doesn't know if she and Peyton can ever truly be friends like they were because Peyton hurt her twice. And Brooke has a lot of walls and insecurities. Peyton and Brooke have a lot in common. They both pretty much grew up without parents but it also affected them a bit differently because that difference is that Brooke's parents CHOSE to abandon their daughter while for the most part Peyton's didn't. I definitely see Peyton and Brooke as a sibling/sister relationship. While Haley and Brooke are a friendship.

Rubi Moon

If this was Twitter I’d be like RETWEET. Because only Peyton. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

This is one of my favorite episode out of all the seasons. You feel every emotions possible ever in 1h lol! confusion on what's gonna happen, joy when we learn haley and Nathan are having a boy, tears of joy when Lucas and Peyton got together with the iconic ''It's you'' line, and sadness and panic in the end!!

Marie T-L

You know when you see the OTH opening in black and white an intense episode is coming. This episode is such an emotional roller coaster!! Even though the ending was tragic, I LOVE this episode so much! It feels like what we’ve all been waiting for- like the end of a build up. All the call backs to season 1: “Nice shot/ nice legs”, “I’ll be seeing ya” and when Lucas missed that shot in season 1, but made it here- to win the State Championship that Whitey has worked so hard for! I love how the girls were there for Haley & Peyton and Brooke got to talk- even though it was just for a little bit. I feel like Brooke redeemed herself a bit in this episode. The “It’s you, Peyton” scene is one of the most iconic from the whole show! We’ve been waiting 4 seasons for that moment! I love how Brooke told Lucas to go to Peyton. It shows that she understands that her and Lucas aren’t for each other. Haley telling Nathan the baby is a boy... one of my favorite moments! Then Nathan going out there and playing his heart out to win is just amazing. Finally, the ending... so heartbreaking. After everything that just happened, Haley had to be one hit by Dante :( And she even saw the car coming their way & her first instinct was to push Nathan out of the way- she loves him so much. I knew something would happen regarding Lucas when he didn’t take his pills before the game. Lucas and Peyton finally get together then... he has a heart attack. “One Drama Hill” is right. The fan favorite episodes are always the most intense and emotional which only makes you stress out when watching lol! Also, I HATE Dan with a passion, but him stepping up to protect Nathan is a good moment for his character. Karen taking Deb back to rehab is another good moment because it shows that Karen truly wants Deb to get better, for Nathan. I’m so glad you’re loving the show & connecting with characters like all of us watching have!

heather

Haley is amazing because she saw the car and pushed Nathan out of the way to get hit herself. She loves Nathan soo much, it was her first instinct to protect him and not herself :)

miah.sun

Keep them LEGENDARY OTH REACTIONS COMING!

Gandhi_18

Ok.. I have so much to unpack. There's no doubt that the ending of this episode was HORRIBLE. But I want to say a few great things about this episode. I LOVE that they made Lucas take the winning shot since he missed it last time. Also, we get to find out the sex of Nathan and Haley's baby, Brooke has a slight redeeming moment (still mad that it was to Lucas though and that she made the mom death comment), they played one hell of a game, Whitey FINALLY gets to win state which is so deserved it's not even funny, and Leyton rises! I really can't tell you how emotional and crazy excited I felt watching that Lucas and Peyton scene. You're absolutely right, Peyton deserves it so much... now onto the negatives... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I mean that's all I have to say about Haley and the car and Dante and all of that... AND THEN.. Peyton finally gets Lucas and now he has a heart attack???? I cannot stress this enough... THIS GIRL NEVER GETS A BREAK. This episode was heartbreaking and beautiful. It will go down as one of the most remembered episodes of OTH along with the school shooting. WOW. That is all.

Dydra Arnold

This was the episode I looked forward to ever since you started doing OTH reactions...Thinking 'imagine when Juli is going to get to THAT episode....WHich btw is my favorite from the show.....If ever the term rollercoaster of emotions is applicable it's this episode...Extremes of hope, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment love for the characters and heartbreak it's this episode

Lucas

The ending was so powerful. I was horrified for Haley and Lucas. And of course, Peyton finally gets the guy of her dreams and he has a heart attack lol. It only happens to Peyton lol.

This is one of my ultimate and absolute favorite One Tree Hill episode. The Ravens winning the State Championship, I love how they start with a fakeout making you think they lost Lol. This show loved torturing fans. Nathan doing their right thing, Whitey finally getting his dream to win State and Lucas and Peyton finally getting together FOR REAL. It was 4 seasons leading to these moments. Since season 1 we’ve been hearing about Dan walking away from the game 18 years ago and the team losing the chance at a State title and we had a similar situation where Nathan could’ve thrown away the game due to Dante's threats and basically repeated his father's mistake but he proved himself a better man and a better captain and team leader than Dan ever was and did the right thing. It’s like what Dante said, unlike Dan, Nathan has a soul. And I think that finding out the baby’s sex also affected him, He wanted his son to be proud of him and not carry the guilt of disappointing his team, disappointing Whitey and himself. And as much as I hate Dan it was nice watching him step up to protect Nathan, especially at the end of the episode. The parallel to season 1 finale game was also amazing, and while in 1x22 Nathan passed to the ball to Lucas who missed the shot because his arm hadn’t fully recovered from the car accident yet, here we had Nathan and Lucas making the exact same play from that episode except this time Lucas makes the winning basket. Another thing I loved the girls uniting to help Haley, all of them hugging Haley when she told them she was having a boy. It was nice watching Brooke and Peyton breaking the ice. And then there’s Lucas and Peyton, It doesn’t get more epic than "It’s You!!" everything about this moment was perfect, I loved the "nice shot" "nice legs" exchange, it was a great callback to his first game with the Ravens in S1 where they said those same exact words. And as soon as Peyton said "I'll be seeing ya." and he flashed back to the Pilot episode when he said that to her I knew it was gonna happen. And he finally realises that’s it’s been her all along and I just knew that the line about "who do you want standing next to you when all your dreams come true?” would come back in some way. It was perfect as the roaring crowd cheered and the confetti fell all over them and the rest of the stadium. It was like the end of a movie when the main couple finally gets together. Again, it was perfect. This entire episode had me freaking out and tearing up at various points and it still gives me chills every time I watch it. And that moment with Whitey sitting alone in the stadium after everyone has left with a smile and tears coming out of his eyes just warms my heart and made so happy and emotional. This was his dream and after 30 years of coaching he finally got it. Such an amazing retirement present ❤️ He truly deserved this!!!

As soon as I knew 4x09 was part of this batch I couldn't stop thinking of this episode! Other than 4x05 this was one of the S4 episodes I was most excited to get to (including 4x10). I knew there was no way you could wait for the next one! This is going to be intense!!!

miah.sun

I know a lot of bad and crazy things happened in this episode but I really want to focus on the game and the Ravens winning the championship. This is by far one the best moment if not the best moment of the show for me. I get emotional every time I see it. Whitey finally going out on top winning the state championship. Lucas redeeming himself by hitting the same shot he missed in season 1. Nathan being inspired by Haley and the news of his unborn son. Leyton, though I don't ship them at all, getting their moment and chance to be an actual couple. Even Dan having a small glimmer of relief and joy. I love all of them, every single one of them, and it felt like we were all on this journey with them to get to this point.

Nathan

I'll watch it and then type a 5 paragraph essay

Rubi Moon

OH BOY! and YES! haha I had a feeling you would end up reacting to the next episode XD
