I agree Dan was abusive towards Deb and his sons but I honestly don’t think he was trying to manipulate Karen rn. He realized that he killed his brother for no reason whatsoever and this is his messed up way of “making things right”. This is where he starts wanting redemption. It ofc doesn’t erase anything he’s done before but he is not being manipulative rn, but he is trying to be a better person to try and have an easier conscience about what he’s done. And Karen is carefully falling for it bc she is as you said in a vulnerable state atm. We all know though that if she finds out what he did, she will never forgive him for that.

I also think it was a bit of the showrunner posing this as a normal and okay thing more than anything though. But I do think it's mostly Mouth being naive

2020-05-21 21:18:17 +0000 UTCHonestly I don't think you're being too harsh about Mouth. When I watched, I never saw an issue with it but now watching so many years later I am HORRIFIED. But with what's come to light about the creator of the show, I am also not surprised. But I am seeing Mouth in a whole new light this time around. Up until this point he was such a good guy and I think he still is but wow is this brutal to watch. Also, about Karen falling for Dan's crap.....agreed. I will say though, I don't blame her. Not because Dan deserves the benefit of the doubt -- no definitely not. But because he is a known and proven abuser. She was vulnerable. She's pregnant with her dead fiancee's baby, her son has a heart condition and he also RAN INTO A SCHOOL SHOOTING, like, she was in such a vulnerable spot in her life and Dan POUNCED. Because that's what abusers do. They find the vulnerability in you and exploit it. It's so cringey and it makes me so mad !!!!

And Mouth was an idiot and I agreed with you back in the day about him, even though it was before "Me Too". Also, their phones take me to that time when I wanted to be really dramatic sometimes and shut my phone like a tv character, but I never had a reason to. Now I never will get that chance.

She got to save herself. I loved that!!! And true Juli, this is the one time Lucas chooses not to just go in like he does all the time and knocks on the door/ rings the door bell Lol. Lucas finally opening his eyes, open your eyes Luke." And realising there was still someone there at the school. The Naley stuff was really cute.

2020-05-21 12:01:45 +0000 UTCIt was so satisfying watching Brooke and Peyton kick Derek's ass. And I'm so glad they made Brooke be the one who went looking for Peyton. I love the fact that even after all their fighting the fact that they've known each other since they were kids trumps them being mad at each other and Brooke knew something was wrong when Peyton didn't show up. It was refreshing seeing some female empowerment. A girl doesn't always need a boy to save her, she's strong enough on her own. Breyton's friendship might not be my favourite, but I'm so happy they can finally put these fights behind them and be friends again. And I have to admit they have grown on me lately. "You saved me. You saved me too." That was such a beautiful moment and it was all I needed right now.

I am a huge OTH fan and love it from beginning to end, no matter the changes (y'all know what I mean), because I really loved the later seasons even though some people did not. So I really hope she continues the show to completion and continues to love it with additional characters and all!!!

I really want Brooke to be someone you stan, I think s5,6,7,8,9 Brooke is the one that people love because idk they are imo her best seasons, she is certainly a fan favorite and idk I think she might become one of your children very soon, right up there with Peyton, Nathan, and Laurel Lance lol

Jimmy let her go because she had diabetes and her medication was in her locker. It leaves off with her running through the halls...and now we know where she ended up :)
