2023-07-27 00:19:36 +0000 UTCDan is so selfish. That whole speech that he gives Nathan really bothers me. He goes on and on about how he needs peace before he dies. And manipulating Nathan by saying "don't deny a a dying man's wish." Dan does realize that he murdered his brother right? Did Dan give Keith peace before his death? Did he grant Keith's wish before he died. I know he didn't cause Keith's wish would be to die of old age. That paired with the fact that he got a headstone that looms over his brother's headstone and he put "loving brother" on the headstone. Dan is so full of shit and is so fucking manipulative. I believe that Dan has a bit of a heart but I feel like reactors are way too easy on Dan and act like Nathan and everyone is being too hard on Dan but Dan deserves this treatment. The man who murdered his brother does not deserve peace and closure before his own death.

2020-07-07 23:12:59 +0000 UTCIt's crazy that still to this day I don't know how to feel about Dan. He's just so complex. I probably would be in the same position as Haley. Personally I don't think I can feel extremely empathetic towards Dan (I do a little bit if I'm honest) and his situation, but I can be empathetic to those who are suffering with him coming back into their lives, especially Jamie and Nathan. It's a really tough subject and I admire the show for discussing the idea of letting someone back into your lives after such a horrific crime.

2020-07-07 22:03:05 +0000 UTCi think there are two types of oth fans when it comes to dan, there are lucases and nathans, the lucases are those who absolutely hate dan and don’t care if he dies and would prefer it cause he’s a terrible person who can never redeem himself, and then there are nathans who know that what dan did was beyond horrible but still think he can turn his life around even a little bit and deserves to have some type of redemption. that’s just life, it’s really about empathy imo i can’t help but feel emphatic towards dan he has been more than horrible and he deserves what is happening to him yet i still find myself feeling bad for him

It’s really good writing. But for me I was happy when I heard he could die, maybe I’m cold but I’ve never felt bad for him. Remember he didn’t just make one mistake, killing Keith was the most reprehensible thing he’s done, but he had been ruining everyone’s lives long before that.

2020-07-07 11:04:39 +0000 UTCI think Dan is in this complex situation.. on the one hand he is still Dan and he only knows one way to deal with problems, but this time that just doesn't work because what he did is unforgivable and I don't blame neither Lucas nor Nathan for letting him know that. The brothers have different povs though and I really find that interesting ... for Lucas as Juli said he is the villain in his story, he's the one that took his "real father" and the father of his sister and who hurt his mother in more ways than he can count, Lucas never saw any other side from Dan than hate, manipulation and malice, for him he is already dead and a reminder of all that he has lost. For Nathan it's not that black and white - he used to adore his father, looked up to him and has happy memories of him .. for Nathan Dan was a real father who did a few really terrible things and one very unforgiveable act, but he just can't stop loving him and it hurts him to be estranged from him in that way .. for Nathan Dan is not dead, Dan is not just a monster but also someone he can't stop loving regardless of what horrific things he's done. You see the difference in the choice of words - Lucas was cold, saying "good riddance" and with Nathan it's more being protective over his family, but acknowledging that Dan was a real father to him .. I also understand though that Dan wants to have a chance at redemption .. not because he deserves it, but because he needs it. He wants to die knowing that he was still loved by someone.

I've been seeing a lot of people saying that season 8 is their least or one of their least favs which is funny because I love that season.

2020-07-07 07:28:15 +0000 UTCIt just sucks that Jamie has to suffer because of what Dan did. All he knows is that he’s his grandpa, he saved him, and gave him that jersey. Of course he wants to spend time with him. But I completely understand Lucas and Nathan’s feelings... Nathan is still conflicted about Dan, but he took away Keith & they can’t forgive him for that. I hated that Haley threw Jamie’s card in the trash though :( Brooke is such a queen! Her growth is just amazing & I’m so proud of who she’s become! It was great that she was inspired by Angie to make a line of baby clothes- so cute!! Q can play because he won’t be shooting/ dunking the ball- he’ll be passing it to his teammates & they’ll score the points. I love that Q and Nathan will be practicing together! Like I said, Nathan’s comeback is my favorite storyline of the show! “Don’t call it a comeback” oops lol Super excited for the last 2 episodes of S5! And then S6... one of the bests!! My ranking is S4>6>3>9>5>1>8>7>2

2020-07-07 07:27:38 +0000 UTCI agree and I think this show really helps with understanding depths in characters like for an example we see why dan is the way he is and there's so much in dans story that shows why he is the way he is cuz of his knee injury and his father controlling him and pressuring him that made him to do the same compare to other shows that rarely show the storyline of a villain being a villain or showing that villains or the bad guy do have a part of them that cares and deep down has a heart, love Julis commentary about it and about Dan's character cuz most of us felt what she feels watching it rn

You analyze and give your opinions on characters and situations so deeply. You do it throughout the episode and in depth at the end. I've checked out other reactors but your channel is by far my favorite. You give so much commentary and really see all sides of things. Your also hilarious! Nathan really learns from Dan and takes in what he says and Dan really knows Nathan. Anyway, I think that the reason that Q can play again is b/c they have changed his position around his injuries and he is going to play differently than before. And I love how Nathan and Q are going to work together for their comebacks!
