2020-08-16 10:42:46 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite movies of all time! So happy you reacted to it. SMG as Kathryn is perfection, and such a different character than Buffy. I actually never noticed how dramatic and extra Sebastion was until now lol. Also Reese and Ryan were married in real life for a period of time and had kids (they are divorced now). I would love for you to react to the unauthorized musical version that's on YouTube (Katie Stevens from Faking It and The Bold Type plays Kathryn). Finally Bittersweet Symphony will forever be the best finale song in film history. Change my mind!

2020-08-16 06:43:42 +0000 UTCIn the original version of the scene of Kathryn celebrating her "triumph" over Sebastian he did hit her but then they chose to cut that. So, originally Kathryn was actually truthful to Ronald in everything she said about Sebastian. That said, I always felt like SMG played that as Kathryn just being hurt that Sebastian loved someone else more now and not wanting to sleep with him while he loved another (I also think she looks honestly upset when she sees them from the balcony). She then talks to Ronald to get him to go to her not to beat up Sebastian, that was completely accidental, so it really wasn't her intention to get Sebastian killed or anything. Many people love to think of Kathryn as worse than him but, to me, Sebastian and Kathryn were basically the same. The only difference is that he was allowed to be himself and be awful and he found someone who fell in love with him and that he loved, Kathryn never had that chance. Maybe now that people can see her for who she truly is maybe she will. Or not.
