I admire her for getting on that stage. I've been a Shawol since before they made their debut, I grew up with them. I've never been able to watch this performance , still don't, but this song is beautiful and he wrote it for her.

briana skywalker ♡

I just checked and they lyrics aren't on her official mv unfortunately :(

This was an award show. I was crying watching this live and still tear up every time I watch this! Leehi was so brave to perform just weeks after Jonghyun's death! He wrote this song for and the lyrics are so beautiful. You guys should react to the actual MV it has the lyrics already! Other Leehi songs I recommend are CODE KUNST Ft Leehi XI and also X by both of them too!

Yes, this is really heartbreaking! I'll recommend again for you guys to review Jonghyun "Poet Artist". Whether it's a traditional review or a first listen....just anything at all is fine.

Let me see if I can do something. It’s telling me the video is blocked in South Korea. Let me try to figure this out.

The Report Card Podcast

Jonghyun wrote this song for Lee Hi. the lyrics tho... 😭

KSR Petite

He wrote it for her when she had panic disorder that made her hardly breath. She literally lost her #1 fan:(. You should read the lyrics too. I cry every time I listen to this song💔

'The uploader has not made this video available in your country.' WHYYYYYY D:

I just realised that you guys have listened to Our Page already because of the album review. I'd still recommend watching the MV someday but to be honest I'd rather you prioritise Jonghyun's music and happier things.

Painful watch this one. It was in January, less than a month had passed since the incident. Jonghyun composed and wrote the lyrics for Lee Hi that suffered from minor panic attacks. Many of his lyrics are to comfort people who are feeling down, see "End of a Day" or "Maybe Tomorrow". "Our Page" is a beautiful song written by the other four members of SHINee dedicated to him, it was released on June 25 last year. If you want to check it out I'd recommend reading the lyrics in advance because there are no subtitles in the video.

Jonghyun of SHINee was a huge song-writer, including this track -- Lee Hi's "Breathe." (He was also the first in-house song writer from SM, and only one for quite some time! He was about to finish his PhD in music when he passed.) She was not the only member who had this kind of reaction -- Taeyeon, IU, and many others had problems on stages shortly after his passing, including many award shows (like Yeri of Red Velvet crying, which led to Lisa from Blackpink choking back tears, Heize moving off camera, etc.) Yeri dedicated a song to him, and SHINee wrote a really great song for him as well, (even if it took me forever to listen to it.) Overall, I think Lee Hi is an excellent live performer, and this is (for 100% understandable reasons) her worst performance even without the breaks. It's not hate -- I couldn't even imagine trying to do what she did. I'm a soldier and I was so heart-broken I basically shut myself in my barracks for the entire day he passed, lol -- so mad props to her for singing a song he wrote for her about... trying to comfort a depressed person. I don't know what you all know about him, but aside from being a great musician, lyricist, composer, and dancer -- he was a very loving person. He stuck up for LGBT rights even though it's incredibly controversial in Korea, and after working long days, he'd host a radio show where he'd listen to his fans complaints and worries, give them stories to cheer them up, and occasionally even write songs for them. This song, like many of his songs, is about comforting someone with depression, and he had many messages about trying to bring mental health issues like depression to light in Korea (which are the majority of the quotes at the beginning.) Mental health is a very taboo topic in Korea, and suicide has risen at an alarming rate due to the huge amount of effort expected to even try to compete academically, or artistically, and the foundation in his name uses 100% of its funds to help people like him. I can only hope he's in a better place, and his passing will slowly help bring about a positive, and helpful, change for Korea's regards and attitude to mental health.
