QUEENDOM - THE FINALE | REACTION

I just felt that Queendom season 1 is a two-horse race, as the two winner candidates were always in the top 2. While in Queendom season 2, the competitions were more balance and harder to predict who the winner is. Anyway, all the 6 teams are the real winners and all of them have brought such great performances. OT6! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Finally, I just finished watching Queendom season 1 final episode. I came to season 1, after watching how good season 2 is. Queendom never disappoints. However, I just feel that the stage in season 2 is much bigger than in season 1? As I remember that in season 2, after the winner announcement, all the 6 teams could walk around and interact with the fans, which unfortunately didn’t happen in season 1.

This show made me stan Oh My Girl. I had heard of them but never listened to any of their songs. They impressed me more than anyone else on the show and the songs they performed made me go digging through their discography. Now I have lost count of how many songs of theirs I added to my playlist. After seeing YooA on Queendom and Running Girls, she has become a contender for my ultimate bias. As for the other groups, (G)I-DLE were my favorite group going in and they did not disappoint. Mamamoo is a group I always have respected and their finish on this show is deserved. I feel like the other 3 contestants had moments worth remembering, but for the entire show overall I felt there was a significant gap between the top 3 and bottom 3.

Your whole narrative about Bom is just ain't it. Yes, she could've done better and her performances might be underwhelming but you can't fault her for always looking back at her glory days. People kept saying Bom is legendary because she is. 2NE1 is. Bom was one of the first female idol soloists who actually topped the charts and popularized the term "walking on the roof". She had massive digital sales and won Best Female Soloist so as far as accolades is concerned. It's not all talk. She's also a member of one of the most successful girl groups of the 2nd generation. No one can say otherwise. In her career, 2NE1 really had one of the best runs. The reason why she keeps on looking at the past is because those were her precious memories before her scandal. The scandal that broke her as a person. Korea shunned her and labeled so many hurtful things. She left the public eye for almost 3 years and has trauma over the whole thing. So yeah, I feel like you're talking out of your ass.

ok after 2 years i watched it again and what i think 1.my personal winner (g)-idle (maknae on top)...shows how 'idols' can be artists as well 2.mamamoo and omg (cant choose cuz both just killed that and yea queendom was a point when i became a miracle so i feel you bro) 3.bom (just cuz she is a legend) 4.lovelyz...well i really love some of their songs and like their personalities but... i dont want to say it but whole performance on show...idk i was kinda disapointed (among other groups) 5. mina was my bias and choa was my wrecker so after all the shits that happened...just f aoa:) and my wizone heart screaming where is new chu season;)

5th time trying to post my comment. My final voting. 1 MaMaMoo. Deserved to win, after a 2 day concert you go perform and do a great job (first round). And then afterwards do equal performances, if not better, you deserve to win. 2 Oh My Girl. After a rocky start they outdid themselves round after round with different concepts. 3 AOA. After being reduced to 5 members they did great with a top notch performance of Mamamoo's Egotistic. 4 (G)I-Dle. Would've put them third if they didn't do similar performances. 5 Lovelyz. The girls did good. 6 Park Bom. Still not over the fact of the so called crying "act", besides that her voice is still a unique sound.

In the end, I guess what we learned is that the real Queendom is the friends we made along the way. But seriously who cares about the competition element of the show. The real winner was us being able to see these incredible performances and these amazing groups interacting with each other. I'd like to give bonus points to (G)I-dle and AOA because they were the only ones who kept with the show's concept and actually coordinated a full comeback that coincided with the end of the show. Maybe that was just a coincidence but I still think it's impressive. Also, I love this show because it finally let me figure out who my OMG bias is. Even though I've been a fan of OMG since Closer I've never really had a bias. But now I'm kind of in love with Seunghee. She's cute, sassy, funny, has a beautiful singing voice, and wears her heart on her sleeve. What's not to love?

The OMG saga throughout this series had me thinking out loud "Where have WM and OMG been hiding all of this?" They've always put out quality work, but their versatility in performance and aptitude for variety just came out of nowhere....very similar to how I felt about TBZ in RtK...these shows just bring out a new threshold of skill and showmanship in some groups, OMG was probably the best example of this.

Exactly fam! I mean Mamamoo were hot favourites throughout the show so it definitely doesn't surprise me but I expected idle to come 2nd at the very least and OMG were an absolutely incredible upset to that and I loved every second of it. Seeing OMG and Lovelyz get their frickin bread was the best thing ever!

If this is how you react before they announced the results then just wait for the final of produce😂 Survival shows love delaying the final announcement part. The way I banged out oh my girl, lovelys and aoas final song after I finished this episode😂 it was straight fire! Also sadly I think everyone and their mothers knew mamamoo would be 1st when they saw the lineup but I enjoyed getting to know the other groups and bom

As I mentioned in a different comment thread i recently join as a patron so I’m late to the party. Thusly I thought I’d just summarize some observations of the overall series here instead of going back to each reaction.... 1. Beginning to end I thought OMG were the most consistent performances. 2. Park Bom was a little underwhelming throughout. 3. Soojin & (especially) Yein got robbed in the solo stages of the performance team...3rd & 4th?! Like what? 4. The Lovelyz Sixth Sense performance should have been so much more impactful. The other groups seemed to get the idea yet for the most part the audience didn’t. Lovelyz ended up getting a fair amount of negative comments from their fans after Sixth Sense because it was so far removed from their core concept. I never quite understood that because they said during the first episode one of the main reasons for doing the show was to get out of their comfort zone & Queendom afforded them that opportunity. At its core Sixth Sense is basically about fighting back against the odds & those trying to hold you down. After their 6th place finish in rd one I just thought it was a huge statement & really really gutsy! 5. Solar throwing in a little Puss (Jimin’s song from Unpretty Rapstar, don’t anyone get triggered) during their Good Luck cover was kind of epic & no one really talked about it. 6. I became a fan of Lovelyz & OMG because of Queendom. 7. The Minnie & Hyejeong Instagram cover was easily my favorite of the 3 unit performances. Minnie, for being a chaotic mess at times, has such a chill vibe & the voice to go with it. And Hyejeong is next level sultry & oh yeah, she can sing....the combination was unexpected but it worked great for me. 8. The show confirmed what I already knew deep down...Latata & Hann are STILL (G)I-dles best songs! 9. Lovelyz was easily the gutsiest of all 6 acts. They took more chances & strayed furthest away from their brand. It probably hurt them short term (on the show) but longer term they likely gained more fans. I think they “used” the show better than anyone else. 10. Lachie getting triggered because of Mnet’s editing & show endings then gathering himself after remembering its Mnet is solid entertainment! 11. Hyejeong oozes sexuality when she performs AND is a comedy genius.....Next level duality! 12. OMG’s Destiny cover was simply amazing. Under the circumstances it’s of the best reality show performances I’ve ever seen, up there with The Truth Untold on PD48. 13. The fact that Yuqi & Arin became close, & are still close, because of Queendom makes me so happy. 14. Yooa’s solo dance, while great, was overrated. 15. The Mnet fake swallowing sound is creepy & unnerving. 16. Hyejeong struggling with literally every dance was funnier than maybe it should have been. I just love how after being in such a jaded industry that’s built on public perception she still doesn’t take herself too seriously. 17. Soojin during the first performance team meeting (with Lia Kim) forgetting she’s the 3rd oldest in (g)i-dle & announcing she’s the second oldest. I just can’t... 18. Park Bom, through very little fault of her own, never had a chance. 19. Baby Soul with the glasses, pig tails & backpack during Cameo is such a mood. Then again so was the entire performance! 20. Yuqi in that “Dara” hair kills me every time I see it! 21. I hate typing (G)I-dle. 22. I’m sure I’ll get hate for this but I was not as overwhelmed by Mamamoo’s fandoras box performance as others were. Don’t get me wrong their vocals were phenomenal as usual but besides that there was no real “performance”. I mean Hwasa said as much in the post performance interview. When you think about it NOT performing in every contest was one of things people mentioned that held Bom back. 23. Lee Dahee is stunningly beautiful! 24. In retrospect, when Yuna said, “it’s our last performance so we’re really giving it our all,” during the lead up to their Sorry finale stage, took on a whole new meaning (on so many levels) when watching the show for a second time. 😭😠 25. Mimi is really a great rapper/performer but it’s often unrealized because of OMG’s concept. 26. Sujeong knows more about kpop songs & dances than anyone else knows about anything else....ever! 27. It doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing, I tear up a little when the chorus of Secret Garden hits. 28. Park Bom wants a 2ne1 reunion even more than blackjacks! 29. I didn’t love all their performances but Soyeon is a genius! 30. In answer to your Jiho question (careful, incoming bias rant) she is a lead vocalist, lead dancer & visual. She is also sometimes affectionately referred to as the “endorphin” of OMG for her energetic personality which, unfortunately, we didn’t get to see a lot of. She is subtly savage & sarcastic with a wicked sense of humor. And if you’ll remember she presented both the gukak & horror themes that were so successful. Jiho is quite simply beautiful...add in that long blonde hair & im done. All of this sends me & has made her one of my ults. Of course Mnet gave her about 20 seconds of screen time. Do better! Ok sorry, my bias is showing again... 31. I completely understand Wheein was dealing with health issues & of course I’m glad she prioritized herself but selfishly I missed Wheepup not being her usual chaotic self. 32. Had to really push aside my feelings about Jimin & FNC in order to watch AOA again (which, thankfully I was able to do).....having said that Miniskirt is never not sexy! 33. You mentioned several times getting to know OMG better because of the show but I would contend that people got to know Seunghee, Hyojung & Yooa....there is a whole beautiful, glorious, chaotic world out there for you that includes Mimi, Jiho, Binnie & Arin (Hani oppa’s one true love)! OMG has one of the most talented & beautiful maknae lines (Jiho, Binnie & Arin) in kpop....fight me! 34. Even with Mnet being known for their “evil editing” I will never get over how supportive they all were of each other during performances...especially how Hyejeong deciding that EVERYONE was either cute or sexy, or both! Her “in performance” comments were gold. Not to mention OMG’s constant fangirling of MMM... Hosts: mentions MMM OMG: ahhhhh! MMM: does anything OMG: AHHHHHH! When in reality Solar was low key simping them the entire time 35. Why are girl groups this fucking good?! Said every gg stan ever! 36. Finale performances.... 1. (G)I-dle - Shuhua shook me! 2. Oh My Girl - Outstanding! 3. Mamamoo - it was quintessential Mamamoo. 4. Lovelyz - a great combination of the Lovelyz brand with a little more spice.....ala Apink since I’m So Sick. They grew up without loosing their identity & it showed on their next comeback too. 5. AOA - on a lot of other shows this would have been a top 2 performance. 6. Park Bom - very good but like all of her performances it left me wanting. Anyway, I loved this show so damn much, like SO much, the first time around & somehow came to appreciate it even more through your reaction series. The insight I got from not only you but the comments from others was awesome & gave me a new perspective on several things throughout the show. Thanks man, this was great!

Omg I totally agree... I thought the first place deserved first as their performances were really creative, but a lot of performances I really liked didn’t do well cuz it wasn’t that typical strong, hard, boy group vibe :( I think Mnet was thinking too much about the dramatic effect like “this is gonna be even more INTENSE than Queendom” but I definitely wish we had more interaction between the groups. It might be because of COVID but I hope we do have like unit performances or more group interactions on Kingdom! Also I think my gripes with RTK are less about the performances cuz I did quite enjoy the intense performances and production, but more about the voting and the lack of interaction like u said. Voting seemed pretty off but I do think the winner deserved their place.

What you described being great about Queendom are also exactly the points why I disliked Road to kingdom. To me it looked like they had bigger budget for road to kingdom but bcs of covid and effort to make it grand anyways it kinda back fired imo. To that I would definitely add(and it is based on my preferences and thoughts, not facts): 1, The compassion the girls had was lacking in road to kingdom and maybe it was just me being quite mad that the performers i considered best along with the final winners (overall i went into it not stanning anyone.. ) were kicked out first. 2. The voting system was just weird for me. And also frustrating.. the part of the voting among themselves (but more complex than in queendom) was just stupid for me and mainly bcs I just have an opinion that boys in korea are more pushed into the seniority thing and it just kind of showed so i dont think that the votes were accurate measure bcs to me it just looked like the most senior groups are untouchable. 3. camera work in second mission was wtf 4. too many contestants (i know this is gonna sound weird but for real... i think that queendom was really nice bcs of the family feeling it had.. again.. i didnt feel that here) 5. i think the performances were dissapointing bcs all the groups were trying to be more "BOOM" than the other ones instead of flaunting various charms and it was obvious to me. That is why I really liked the group that was eliminated first bcs it clearly showed they wanted to try various stuff and didnt just go off like a loosed canon. 6. One group seemed really unlikeable to me. That is literally the complain lol. (Sadly.. it happens..) My rant is over. I have to say I was ok with the winners but I didnt watch the finale as a whole bcs i didnt feel like it was worth it anymore. edit: I have more to say lol - It is sad that MNET once again just tested new show format on girls and then gave boys "upgraded version". I would love this show to remain between the girls bcs of the points stated above.

There is of course also their appearance on Knowing Brothers during Nonstop era, and several weekly idol/idol room appearances.
