An interesting poll 👀 Album listen related!
Added 2021-04-07 07:29:00 +0000 UTCHey guys! Just wanting to know something real quick - when I do album listens, do you prefer to watch with lyric videos, or are you okay with the spotify streaming method? I can understand points for an against both but I'm curious to hear what y'all think!
Do lyric videos help you follow along and engage with the video more? Or do you prefer to see me just vibing out and commenting on the song whether with lyric videos or not?
Let me know!

Honestly I think it’d be nicer if you just pulled up the translations on the website and follow along bc I know you’re bilingual and can do so, lyric videos are just kinda meh to me LMFAO but it’s whatever you feel comfortable with~
2021-04-07 18:22:51 +0000 UTCI enjoy the lyric videos. Even when they are wrong is spots, they provide important visual interest and engagement. I find myself challenged to follow along and spot anything incorrect in the line distributions, which improves my recognition of the members' voices. I also practice my Hangul. One thing that would be helpful: if you see an English translation that is wrong (and there are some _epically bad_ lyric translations out there) you could point it out, because your Korean is awesome. It would help us understand the song better. There are a few Red Velvet songs where I don't think I get the point of the song, because the lyrics translations to English don't make sense.

Surely you could find someone in discord for any group you listen to who can make an album playlist for you, and avoid things like poor translation/audio quality/color coding

2021-04-07 15:39:11 +0000 UTCSeconding this one. In the case of watching along with you, I think having the lyric videos (even if they're not always perfect), give me more to look forward to in an album reaction. I can learn more about the song and what I'm giving to. Its a one time for you, but it will definitely create tons of streamed listens for each person who watches and enjoys the video/song after!

2021-04-07 12:02:19 +0000 UTCI definitely care about both the lyrics and the music, usually I would prefer listening without lyrics once first then go to the lyrics for a second listen. But do whatever floats you boat. :)

2021-04-07 09:33:16 +0000 UTCHonestly, whichever you prefer! Personally I like to concentrate on the music itself and just vibe out when I listen to an album for the first time, but lyric videos are nice too and gives you the option to glance over depending on what you’re feeling. Or sometimes I just look up lyrics for slower songs/songs that sound like there’s deeper meaning behind them after the initial reaction, that way I get an idea of the song while still being able to take in all of the music! But really I think whatever feels most natural to you will work fine, it’s fun to see what different people focus on and take away from each song!

2021-04-07 08:51:41 +0000 UTCI think it would be more interesting if you understood the lyrics but lyric videos mostly have very very bad google translations and they always mess up the different members parts so maybe you can search up the lyrics 😊 and read it from actual lyric translation websites? This is just a suggestion though you can do whatever you feel more comfortable with

2021-04-07 08:38:33 +0000 UTCI can understand the whole “not official streaming” thing with the lyric videos. The way I see it though, it’s usually never more than a one time watch and you end up streaming the song officially countless times. They also help someone like me follow along as I don’t know much Korean. They might not always be accurate 100%, but it’s nice to have some type of understanding.
