It’s just like you can’t excuse his actions either way and it’s in every area of his personality lmao

Dawson really is the worsttttt! I can’t imagine liking him lol. He says he doesn’t want to pressure Jen but he’s been massively pressuring her! And even if someone argued that he is acting his age it’s like, no. Most guys I went to high school with didnt pressure girls as much as dawson does. He tries to shame her for not liking him enough to sleep with him.

First off I fully support your desire to binge this show if it means we get more reactions! Your reactions to Dawson's Creek are always the biggest highlight of my week I look forward to.
This is one of my favorite episodes of the first season, perhaps second only to the season finale.
So some of my thoughts are, as much as I love this episode, I do feel like Pacey was a bit weird this episode. I am someone who is always joking with my friends and talking crap and that's how we communicate and bond. But in the first six episodes we never saw any of that between Dawson/Pacey. Suddenly this episode out of nowhere he's using a nickname Dawson hates, talking crap about his basketball skills. It makes me feel a bit bad for Dawson because this isn't how normally Pacey talks to him so it does seem a bit condescending based on the normal way they talk to each other.
As for Pacey getting detention, I think it could have been earned. What he was doing is not wrong but perhaps doing it at school is. That's something to do at home in private. If the teacher walked in and was able to see him doing it, it seems like he must have been in the shower or over near his locker. So that means another student could have walked in and saw it also and complained about being offended. I do think his offense is the least detention worthy, but I do think there can be an argument made for it.
I also do believe that Jen didn't realize until this episode Joey had feelings for Dawson. I think Jen thought they were just friends and understood that Joey might be a bit jealous that her friend had less time for her now because he has a girlfriend but I don't think she realized there was romantic feelings involved because Dawson gave her no indication he looks at Joey that way and we see Joey can be sassy and isn't afraid to be outspoken in most instances, so Jen see's the brash side of Joey and thinks 'This is a girl who speaks her mind so if she liked Dawson she would have made her move.' but then she realizes this episode that while Joey is strong and outspoken in most areas of life, Dawson is her one weak spot where she is the shy timid girl who lacks confidence.
I also think Dawson is oblivious to Joey's feelings, even after this episode I don't think he realizes she was talking about him. We saw in the first couple of episodes Dawson express how 'Just because they get older nothing has to change' and Joey makes a comment to him about how he lives in this picture perfect world and he rejects and denies any type of change. He is very much a creature of habit. So I think he looks at Joey as 'one of the guys' and the tomboy he grew up with. He doesn't see her for the woman she has become.
We also get our first look at Abby Morgan. Abby is someone I love to hate. She is very obnoxious and can sometimes really upset me but I think you saw in this episode that she can also have some great one liners and she is a great character for coming in, dropping bombs to upset the balance of the group, and then walk away and watch the chaos.
I can't wait to watch more episodes and see how your opinion grows and changes as the show goes along. It only gets better and better.

Great reaction Queen as always! Yes Joshua Jackson is from the Mighty Ducks movies. Also Dawson is a dramatic pain in the ass except for when he’s comforting Joey ❤️
