Sorry this is the only time I am on Dawson's side. It would be one thing if the ex came back and wanted to get closure. It's another when the ex is upfront about wanting to get Jen to go back with him; to have Dawson give him a place to stay; and for Jen to actually have to think about who she wants to be with. Jen is allowed to have past relationships but those things aren't okay. I absolutely hate Dawson but he is right here.

His narcisitic behavior, his hypocrisy, his mysoginy and his claim of being deserving of every single thing he wants is just really terrible. I don't understand for the life of me what either Jen or Joey - two smart, capable, empathetic young women - see in this guy.

I was a teenager when this was on the air and I remember thinking at the time that Dawson was great and while he made some mistakes, for the most part he was the victim in a lot of these situations. Now as an adult I see him very differently and I realize just how poorly he handles a lot of situations. I will side with him though on the Billy things. Jen is a smart girl and she knew having Billy stay with Dawson was a crappy thing to do. In that moment though she put Billy's feelings as a priority above Dawson's. She should have never even asked Dawson to do that. Also to touch some on Mitch and Gail, I agree with what you said early in the episode when he was being kinda cruel towards her. She doesn't have to stay and she doesn't have to put up with him acting like that. But also if she wants to save the marriage, she needs to understand the level of pain she caused him and know that it's not going to heal overnight. There will be a lot of resentment and anger that will need to go away if they are going to make this marriage work but it's going to take time. Speaking from my personal situation, I got divorced about three years ago after my wife cheated on me. Even though we are no longer together and I have no desire to be with her again, sometimes I find myself thinking about the affair she had and it still gets me extremely angry to the point of wanting to lash out. Another thing you mentioned I wanted to touch on was Dawson vs Pacey when it came to Joey. I think you hit the nail on the head that Pacey was there for her while Dawson ditched her for Jen. But I don't know if that's necessarily a huge difference in character in situation because if you put Pacey in the Dawson spot of fetching Joey a drink, if he looks over and Tamara was there, I think he forgets all about Joey also. So kudos to Pacey for what he did but I think he would have bailed on her in a heartbeat also if the right girl showed up. Thank you for your reaction Juli and I can't wait for the next episode!
