2022-09-03 10:31:34 +0000 UTCThey lost the rights to the song “i don’t wanna wait” after awhile and had to put in a new theme song and I was surprised that they showed this original theme but I like this one better anyway. The song might change in later seasons as you watch

2022-03-26 17:46:15 +0000 UTCSeason 1 and Season 2 have the "I don't wanna wait" intro, but from S3 onward there is the "run like mad" intro. At least on dvds and every single time I watched it on tv when I was younger. I guess netflix only recorded the subtitles for one intro song and put it over the intro from S1-2 as well.

2022-03-25 18:34:59 +0000 UTCSo I have never watched DC on Netflix. But I'm assuming it follows the path of other streaming services and DVD's. Dawson's Creek had two theme songs, the one we have been hearing and an international theme song from Europe during their original runs. When they started making DVD's and streaming the series, Paula Cole, the singer of "I don't wanna wait" demanded a large amount of money for the rights for them to use the song on those because the original deal was just for television rights. They bought the rights to the song for season 1 but then they just used the international theme song for Seasons 2-6 because it was much cheaper. The lyrics on the screen were the words to the international theme song and starting Season 2, expect to never get 'I don't wanna wait' again and be given the international theme song instead. As for why they have the CC for the international theme song on this episode but the Paula Cole song IDK. Seems like just an error.
