Wardrobe Tour: Shoos
Added 2024-09-10 16:00:01 +0000 UTCI don't wanna brag but today is my cumpleaños 👀. I stopped caring about birthdays sometime in my twenties and have kinda gotten back into it the last couple years. By "getting into it" I mostly mean saying "Es mi cumpleaños" like thirty times today.
This episode, more than any other, helped me understand my relationship to my own wardrobe. I’m not a big shoe guy, variety in footwear isn’t super important to me right now. I mostly wear the same 2 pairs every day. Talking about it in this video kinda helped me accept that, as funny as that sounds. I don’t feel pressure to “get more into shoes”. I like what I like and I’m cool with it 😌

2024-10-18 12:09:03 +0000 UTCI think people have the least tolerance for badly fitting shoes. If a shirt or pants feels uncomfortable it’s more bearable. Vs a shoe that will def have more of an impact on the body especially your feet. That’s probably why shoes are so basic. But I’m a fan of basic shoes. Once I find something that fits, I don’t care if it’s boring or plain, it will probably look good with everything I wear and my feet are happy. Even tho the gorpcore era is over, I still have my eyes on some Salomon XT6 because I actually hike and they’ll be useful in the city when raining as well. When I bought my tabis, living in Texas, I thought I wouldn’t be able to wear them anywhere. Turns out they fit in at rodeos and very western towns. Since it looks like a hoof you’re almost conceptualizing the idea of western wear…At least that’s been my rationalization. 😅 and the compliments from younger onlookers help.

I have feet that behave the same way and the socks I wear daily are five-toed merino wool socks intended for barefoot style running shoes. That might sound warm but they feel breezy to me! No skin on skin contact helps too. would work with Tabis too i think for a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps! Thank you for all the stuff you've thaught me. Inspirational! <3

2024-09-18 20:22:14 +0000 UTCRegarding your feet both sweating and being really cold and the sweat making that worse: I know you love your cotton Anonymous Ism socks, but I think cotton is exacerbating that problem. Hikers have the saying, "cotton kills" because when you sweat in it or get it wet, it can make you dangerously cold. It's very absorbent and, once wet, doesn't remain as breathable as wool and takes longer to dry. Once you start sweating, you're leaching body heat and the wet cotton keeps sitting against your skin, cooling you down further. Cotton is good for warm climates, but if you're cold all the time and you also sweat, try wool. Even a thin, lightweight wool sock should keep you warmer than a heavy cotton one once you start sweating.

All handmade, vegetable-dyed leather, and never any glue on construction. He makes sneakers you might be into. Another cool brand, Culture of Brave, makes rock-solid constructed sneakers (not too heavy) with a worn-ish look (not like Golden Goose) and unique colors.
