2022-05-25 09:49:49 +0000 UTCI don't think he underestimates gale at all, I think it is his trauma from getting stabbed in each film and his sisters death, my take has been he is scared that this time it will be Gale and his fault, he proves how capable he thinks she is by how highly he speaks of gale to almost every character he communicates with. Wes Craven knew if you had a regular movie cop then the villian would never get past the first kill, so they tried to write a loveable but less intelligent character. This "he thinks he is smarter than he is" i believe is incorrect, He sees himself as an old west guy, kind of fantasy deputy. Dewy is meant to subvert the hero cop trope of 80's movies, I think the fact dewy was stabbed in the back and had his siter killed in scream 1, is stabbed multiple times in scream 2, is enough for me to feel sympathy for him, for the record I was on Gale's side in this movie too, but I understood where he was coming from. He is not a deputy anymore; he has to follow more protocols because the other cops lives are in his hands. I do respect your comment though, and I understand not everything plays the same way for all viewers. I just believe the character is deeper than is being expressed here.

2022-05-24 11:47:36 +0000 UTChad to come back to praise Emma Roberts' acting in this movie. she had me believing she wasn't the killer the entire movie, and she played a convincing psycho. i also find it interesting how close Jill got to winning, i genuinely thought she won near the end of the movie

2022-05-24 07:16:44 +0000 UTCFor me Is 1, 2, 4, 3 or 1, 3, 4, 2. I know It makes no sense but I think I enjoy 3 more than 4 and 2 but tend to rewatch less. It's the hairstyles, they look great in 2 and 4. Neve looks great always to me because I saw the first one when I was a child and I loved Neve in Party of Five and The Craft. I actually wanted to see Scream for Neve because I wasn't allowed yet to see scary movies but I watched Party of Five rigourously and followed all the actors, especially Neve, Scott Wolf and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Friends I also loved and I knew David Arquette from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie lol.

2022-05-23 15:20:17 +0000 UTC1,4,3,2 is my ranking I will say that when scream 4 came out it was my favorite but over time I don’t think the film as much and it would probably be lower than 3 and 2 but I have not seen either of those movies as many times as I’ve rewatched scream 4. Scream 4 was also the first time I was able to see a scream film in the cinema when I was about 14/15 so it has a special place in my heart even though I no longer enjoy the movie as much as I use too.

2022-05-23 05:02:00 +0000 UTCCourtney Cox and David Arquette were married from 1999-2013 ish I think. So they were still together when filming scream 4. Also, interestingly I think that Courntey Cox was pregnant with their daughter during the filming of the last season of Friends. Anyway, I've read that they are still friends and the divorce was amicable which is good.
