I think anyone in Dan's shoes would have done the same. I mean, if you've been stuck in hell/purgatory for thousands of years and are stuck as a ghost, and all of a sudden you have the opportunity to talk to your daughter and perhaps get out of this mess for eternity, you take it. Also, LeMec indeed kidnapped Rory, all of this is explained in the final episode. Oh! and, spoiler alert, keep your box of tissues near. you'll need it ;-)
