2022-12-23 10:31:17 +0000 UTCi used to be such a hardcore rini stan but after rewatching, i definitely prefer rina. i really like nini as a character i guess that's why and i'm obsessed with childhood friends to lovers/first love trope, but i feel like gina just brings out the best in ricky and they connect with one another the best

2022-12-23 08:22:05 +0000 UTCThe problem with Ricky and Nini is the exact one with Joey and Dawson. The show expects us to care about them based on a history we haven't been shown and very minimal (nonexistent) chemistry. They fight all the time and then almost kiss and the show at this point expects us to believe they're in love despite the evidence not supporting that at all. Ricky and Gina just make more sense and actually make each other better and enjoy each other's company. This episode is definitely interesting though, I always skip it in my rewatch because no Gina so why would I ever watch it lol. Looking forward to more reactions from you for this show.

2022-12-23 05:49:18 +0000 UTCsadly i think gina leaving and freezing ricky out (which is understandable because she feels like why even bother. why get emotionally connected or try i get her and don’t blame her) has caused him to fall back into nini. it was so cute that he was texting her non stop and said she’s a fighter and will be back for opening night. i think it says something that it took gina leaving for nini and ricky to start talking and “reconnect” if you can even call it that. it seems to be a common thing for them to just talk about the past and tell us about moments they apparently had. and apparently they’re childhood friends which… i love that trope when it’s done right. it doesn’t feel like they’ve known each other as long as they say and are best friends at all in my opinion 😭😭 but like you said it’s easy for them and easy to go back to the way they were with all that history. especially for ricky who wants things to stay as they are. i do think they deserve to see where a second chance may take them because they have unfinished business. “there goes ej making another decision he’s going to regret later.” i honesty think a big part of ej’s character arc is growing up and not being as self absorbed + not making the same mistakes but as soon as you think he’s done with acting like that he falls back into it 😭😭 at least in my opinion. frankie who plays carlos has the best comedic timing on this along with the girls who play kourtney and ashlyn. their delivery is hilarious and well delivered all the time. carlos is my fav character along with ricky gina kourtney and two other characters we haven’t been introduced to yet. kourtney’s voice is amazing and honestly i forgot she didn’t sign up to be in the musical in this season. she really deserves to have a leading part of her own
