2022-12-24 06:53:24 +0000 UTCRicky truly is so afraid of change and this episode and the next truly prove just what he'll do to have things stay the same. Like other people are saying I think Ricky has love for Nini but that it mostly comes down to not wanting to move on from what he felt was the best period of his life, that being when he was with Nini and his parents were "happy". When he is talking about Gina and says he's back to how he always was it shows that for him being with Nini is a regression of his character. I think at this point in the series, Ricky still has a lot of learning and growing to do. Also, I would say for lines to remember when Ricky's mom says "not all couples are meant to be together" I think it points to how in Ricky's mind, his relationship with Nini is parallel to the one between his parents. Therefore, he thinks that going back to Nini can somehow bring him closer to that time in his life when he thought his parents were happy.

2022-12-24 05:16:45 +0000 UTC“you cant deny it” believe me juli certain sides of the hsmtmts fandom did and still does say ricky never felt anything for her and their relationship wasn’t anything but platonic on his end despite even his best friend big red asking if that song was about gina 💀💀 i think ricky truly does truly love nini but maybe not entirely for the reasons he should anymore. like ricky saying maybe he’s back to who he always was is such character regression because so far the person he WAS was someone not ready to accept that things are changing. he started to regress when gina left. maybe he wasn’t accepting change yet but gina being in his life and whatever feelings that were brewing is change he was accepting and he was beginning to enjoy theatre and not trying to get nini back in the toxic way he was anymore. like you mentioning ricky is maybe not able to accept his feelings right now - exactly! gina leaving for those weeks gave him time to completely fall back into his relationship with nini just like you said. and it’s understandable. like you said they have so much history and so much unfinished business with each other maybe they should give it a chance and see where it goes- whether that ends in them being endgame or realizing this isn’t truly what they want out of their relationship anymore. and he also thinks gina’s leaving for good and neither of them have talked about or acknowledged what was brewing between them and it’s easier to just not acknowledge that and stick with who and what he knows and feels comfortable with. ricky’s mom bringing todd (her new bf) PISSED me off. like obviously it’s something he’ll have to accept that his parents will move on but to not even tell him or give him time to adjust? especially when he’s on stage performing and it is something that will surprise him? GIRL 😭😭 and i genuinely think him seeing todd and his mom is going to be the reason for a lot of the decisions he makes in this season finale. yea it was a dance specifically made for gina but i agree if kourtney had time she could definitely do it. i would love to see her audition for the musicals going forward especially with having a voice like that.
