to me it felt so bittersweet watching olivia play nini again, because between season 2 and 3 she had blown up SO MUCH that it kinda felt off to me. not like she forgot how to play nini of course, but it just felt different knowing how much olivia had grown in between the seasons. i'm kinda heartbroken to see her leave HSMTMTS, but i'm so happy & proud of how big she's become, not to mention how talented she is!! apart from that, i'm super excited for you to get deeper in this season, it's really good.

Yay! Can't wait for your reactions as I love season 3 a lot. The existing characters get some great archs especially Ricky who I actually like this season compared to the others as I found him kind of annoying in seasons 1 and 2. I also love the new characters in Maddox and Jet. I know you will love them both too. Also you not recognizing Corbin was hilarious. His last name btw is pronounced blue.

as ricky said near the beginning of the episode he just wants to do things that make him feel free so i guess to him being with lily and experiencing something new and going with her and her family was an example of that. plus also she was there and she liked him and was asking for a second chance so he was like why not give a chance to a new relationship as well. but at least he realized that she was bad news fast. i feel like it would’ve just ultimately been a summer fling anyway because he clearly didn’t like her very much. but in general, ithink the storyline was something the writers just wanted to get through fast and i’m glad because i didn’t need any more lily than that. i would have accepted them just never mentioning her again i would have just pretended that she didn’t exist. 😭😭 but in general, the best part about that entire little storyline of the episode with him is that we got finally free (the song he sang). like you said it is so nice to hear him sing about being ready for whatever is ahead of him and wanting to feel free and not wanting to look back and not wanting to go home. through this song and him talking about new experiences when he was talking about lily and his trip it really feels like he’s beginning to be at a place where he can accept change or at least begin to accept it. and i love that for him. ricky’s character has such a refreshing arc this season and i know you’re going to love it. kourtney and carlos were hilarious this episode. this season has had my favorite comedy since season one and the duo of kourt and carlos is so good this season. maddox is one of my new favorite characters this season! her and jet both. you know, gina keeps talking about all of this being her first and it’s her summer of firsts. her first camp, her first boyfriend, etc. and all i can think back to was when she told ricky that she doesn’t do anything right the first time. speaking of gina’s first boyfriend the one, and probably only positive thing i’ll say about portwell, is they are less cringe this season than they were in season two. i personally still find them cringe especially in this episode, but at least the actors don’t seem like they’re two seconds away from laughing during every romantic scene they have with each other like in season two. but in general, i feel the relationship is so surface level and superficial to the point where sometimes i just feel like there’s this fake bubbliness around their relationship that i just don’t vibe with personally. i love that gina is happy, but that’s all i can say that i like about their relationship. and like i, said, that’s just my opinion and how i feel about their relationship. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ you know it’s not like gina doesn’t have real feelings for ej but just in my opinion they were nowhere near as strong as the feeling she had, or maybe still has, for ricky. people who don’t ship rina want to say “oh she doesn’t like him anymore blah blah blah” and it’s like? there was no closure and it hasn’t been that long and her feelings were STRONG. she didn’t move on she went to ej because he was the best next option and i’m not saying that she doesn’t have feelings for him like i said, but she needed a way to move her mind away from ricky and being in a relationship with ej was that way. felt like ricky was forcing his feelings away from his mind for gina and that may be what she’s doing now. especially when she has a boyfriend who really likes her and she already told herself that she got the wrong idea about her relationship with ricky . did you notice when ej said nothing is going to get in the way of our perfect summer gina responded with “who said ANYBODY would” nothing vs anybody…. like do you have something subconscious going on in your head gina 🤔🤔 also both en and gina’s faces when they saw ricky were hilarious 😭😭 and him getting directly in between them and asking if there’s room for one more? also, olivia rodrigo is listed as a special guest star because this is her last season. she won’t be in season 4 because she’s focusing on her music. i think it’s a good sendoff they do with her even though i don’t really find her storyline this season interesting which kind of sucks considering it’s her goodbye storyline. i also love that you mentioned gina’s fashion and her hair style. i love her style this season and sofia wylie (gina’s actress) picked all of it out!!!! they gave her full creative control this season and she’s been bumped up to the leading lady (in my opinion she’s basically been the leading lady since season 2 but now it’s official).
