I love this season so much and I think you will too!! there's a lot of issues with s2 and i think a lot of them can be boiled down to the show trying to take itself too seriously whereas i feel like this season they really allow the cast and characters to have a lot more fun

2023-03-16 20:55:46 +0000 UTCeven s3 press confirmed that with sofia wylie saying as long as ricky is in gina’s life he’ll always be there in her mind. i feel like it’s really obvious they have to keep them apart for any other romantic relationship they have to thrive (taking gina away at the end of s1 for rini and stopping rina’s interactions for portwell during 2b)

2023-03-16 20:42:20 +0000 UTClike others are saying these first two eps are very fun and cute but after episode 3 things really pick up. love all the ricky and gina looks in this episode and that awkward tension-filled convo they have. it's so obvious that all the feelings are still there. it's clear this is why the writers kept them apart in s2 because when ricky and gina are around each other the chemistry is obvious and outranks whatever other couple they're trying to push for them.

2023-03-16 20:23:08 +0000 UTCgina wasn’t subtle at all with evading the question when ricky showed up i don't know how ej didn’t notice 😭😭 it is kristoff!! kristoff and hans. balance is such a fun song and i LOVED gina making it known she’s going to go for the lead role and going to do it on her own. while she was an amazing friend in s2 and really cared about everyone but clear she put everyone else before herself in s2 and this season she’s not gonna do that! she wasn’t completely herself in s1 (gina 1.0) or s2 (gina 2.0) but now she’s ready to be the real her just like she sang in her song with the lyrics “not the old me, 2.0 me, now the real me’s bout to shine” and “and maybe before i was only half of me but now i trust in my instincts and i’m lovin' what i see” and “not the old me, 2.0 me, no, it's all of me combined” i love that ricky and gina scene because no matter how much of a fool ricky acts gina will always find it endearing LMFAO 😭😭 but i love when my ships have awkward tension around them and it make complete sense for ricky and gina because this is literally the first time they’ve talked in …. months? and it’s on gina’s terms as it should be! but i’m so curious as to what ricky was going to say. i swear this man never gets to finish his thoughts or what he wants to say to or regarding gina LET US HEAR HIM!! YOUR REACTION TO VAL LMFAOOO 😭😭 honestly i totally understand gina being insecure/jealous because this is her first relationship and she doesn’t know how to go about these things even if it’s irrational. i’m just so confused on how ej managed to miss clearly being uncomfortable when they were talking towards the end 😭😭 i loved gina looking at ricky. she visibly snaps herself out of it as well when you zoom in on her looking at him. 2 scenes in 1 episode showing you ricky is still there somewhere in her mind even if she’s distracted in a relationship (much like ricky was in s2). it’s been every season now we have gina looking at him as he auditions and it’s so sweet every time. speaking of ricky’s auditions it’s so nice to see him going for it and just for HIMSELF! he came to a theater camp for himself to have fun. and he actually knows the song and performed it the best he can. he even decided to wear the snowsuit he had with him lmfaoo. he didn’t “zefron” as carlos put it. this is the first time we’re actually seen him want to be in the musical for himself and audition with knowing the material. also i loved seeing gina defend maddox and ricky defend (or more so encourage) jet because they remind them of themselves from s1. maddox and jet are my favorite additions to the cast in general and i’m glad you like them too!! “it never feels forced” EXACTLY! some people may disagree with us but i’ve never felt ricky and gina or any of their interactions were forced. even their awkward conversation was purposeful and i can’t say the same for rini or portwell …..and to me rini in the last few episodes of s1 and portwell in 2b and 3? the definition of forced. i get you completely with the besties vibe thing as well i literally forget they’re dating in certain scenes like their one at the end and then i’m reminded when they do something romantic and i’m like oh…. right. i really liked these first 2 episodes but the season really picks up beginning with ep 3.
