2023-12-31 10:25:22 +0000 UTCidk why it took me so long to realize that every time they want the viewers to believe there's still something there between dawson and joey, they bring in some random character to force it. like his aunt before and now this kid. just another example of showing and not telling. don't TELL me they have sexual tension and their feelings are obvious with each other, SHOW ME. if i don't see it between them, i'm not gonna listen to some random guest star?? also the fact that mr. leery keeps commending his son for not letting the boy he has known for over a decade die is so crazy lmao "you're a hero!! you did a great thing!!" yeah congrats on not letting petty jealousy allow you to just let your friends die in a storm on the open sea i guess??

They somehow have to make him the hero even if he isn't and they have this ridiculous love "triangle" to keep his character worthy of having his name in the title. Pacey can never truly be a hero because Dawson has to be by default.

2023-05-27 17:16:10 +0000 UTCI agree that is why he feels betrayed but in all honesty, a week really wasn't that long and they were going to tell him it's just that Jen beat them to it. Dawson never really gave them a chance to explain. He demanded that Joey pretty much end her relationship with Pacey. Pacey didn't apologize right away because Dawson almost killed him in a boat race. I am not dismissing Dawson's hurt feelings at all because I'm sure it really hurt him but I also don't think he would have reacted any differently if they told him upfront. You said it yourself, in his eyes Pacey knows that Dawson believes Joey is his soulmate so he would have seen it as a betrayal regardless IMO.

I don't understand his behavior and the way others bend backwards to put him on a pedestal but I do understand why he feels betrayed. Pacey knew he still loved Joey and he still went after her, that hurts. Was Joey free then? Yeah. Was Dawson the one who decided to keep her at arms length? Yeah. Did Pacey warn him that if he kept apart from her she'd find someone else? Yeah. Does reason stop feelings from damaging us? No. My problem with Dawson is that he acts as if his feelings entitle him to a deferential treatment from both Joey and Dawson. Had he kept the pain on the inside and just stay nice with them while crying in his room or doing a movie about heartbreak or something I'd be much more sympathetic. Had he said "look guys, I can't be your friend right now because I'm hurting but good luck!" While he secretly throws darts at Pacey's picture in his roo, I'd be fine. But nooo, he just keeps bitching at them at every opportunity. Trying to keep shaming them for his pain and that's just unhealthy for everyone around.

2023-05-27 05:26:00 +0000 UTCTo answer juli’s question asked, I’m believing from dawsons eyes that Pacey knows that dawson believes joeys his soulmate and him and Joey hooking up behind his back until he found out himself, he sees as a betrayal of their friendship. If they’d have gone to him right away I don’t believe he’d have thought the same. That’s my guess as to why he feels betrayed by Pacey who up to this point never apologized for sneaking around with Joey behind his back. I’m still pro Pacey and Joey but that’s how I saw it. Them hiding it for the week they did behind everyone’s back wasn’t a good decision by either and shoulda been up front to everyone about their new relationship and I think If done this way dawson would have acted differently
