i love pacey and jen SOOOO much their friendship is so wonderful and hilarious. and god i really wish they'd let dawson and joey be friends with other people because their friendship just isn't there and it never has been for me lmao like god can you imagine how much better everything would have been if they cared enough to develop him and pacey's friendship? if they put in as much time into his other friendships as they spend TELLING us that dawson and joey are the best best friends in the world it would be so much more interesting. even the "betrayal" in s3 would have had more stakes. but alas.

2023-11-22 20:50:42 +0000 UTCThe problem with Joey is that she's been written as the main pov and the writers have no idea how to do that without having her place everything from her own pov and that ends up coming off as a selfish thing. I think we need to remember that the 90's was the era of the main povs, but Kevin from The Wonder Years, Angela from My So Called Life etc, they all had voiceovers that allowed their selfish thoughts to be pondered without actually being said (even Zack Morris would talk to the camera, breaking the fourth wall) and without a voice over Dawson and now Joey voice out loud those selfish thoughts and it comes off wrong.
