I mean I'm probably going to sound really bad but the line that made me cry the most was you broke her heart and I started bawling like a baby

I saw this in theaters, I am a southern girl so when you said it was hard for you to understand the accents I LOL. Even after slavery black people were still facing racism (still do) I have a black grandparent, that grew up in that time, they had colored schools and white schools, colored schools got the crappy old books used by white kids. Anything black schools had were just what white schools used up and basically threw away. Even racism within our own community, my granddad isn't black but married a dark skin black women, his mother didn't want him to marry her because she was worried the kids would turn out too dark. I heard from my grandmother how her lighter siblings were treated better compared to her, they were born faired skin with blue eyes blonde hair, etc and treated much better by society and by their own families. It runs deep, me being from such a mixed race family and being lighter skinned woman, I definitely think its given me a somewhat "privilege" here in the US. At the end of the day racist still see me as just a black girl doesn't matter how mixed I am. Anyway, Its a great movie, and I never get tired of rewatching it! Your reaction was great to this.

๐ Such and incredible movie. I remember sobbing when finding out Constantine died. That was so utterly heartbreaking for me ๐ญ
They all did such an amazing job with there role. Viola Davis is really something else tho, I was taught by a professor who had the privilege of meeting her and seeing her audition and he said she was just so incredible and unlike anything heโs seen and that she was really something special.

Although slavery was abolished in the 1800's in the US, there was still slavery in many states, and for years and years people of color were segregated and not given fair work etc, in 1947 there was still segregation, That's why race its still such an issue here since it was all so recent, its still an issue everywhere ofc, but in the US things are still hot tbh. And yeah in the south of the US is mostly hot all the time

Thank you so much for watching it, Juli. ๐ฅบ I'm glad you liked it. Sending you a lot of hugs for every tear. ๐ฆ It makes me cry every time too and I know it's a tough topic and movie. Itโs such an important part of our history and things like that are still happening, which is terrible. No one deserves to be treated like this and racism should not exist in this world. I will never understand why thereโs people, that think it is okay to judge other humans by their skin color and whatever comes with their BEAUTY. ๐ฅบ Viola did an outstanding and beautiful work in this movie and you are so right: Viola should've gotten all awards!!! She is incredible. ๐๐ Emma and Octavia were amazing too.
I did already put the crown emoji, but Iโm gonna put it again โcause I watched and enjoyed every single second ๐๐๐๐๐
A really great Cast for this movie ๐
