2024-06-16 20:31:24 +0000 UTCLaenor Valyrian (Corlys Valyrian's son) was riding his own dragon. He is able to ride a dragon and have a dragon because he is half Targaryen as his mother (Rhaenys Targaryen) is a Targaryen (cousin of Viserys). So, Laenor and Rhaenyra are cousins as well.

I think you called it very well that in the 2nd episode he was "throwing a tantrum" in order to get his older brother's attention. The second Otto arrives he asks where is brother is at. I do think that he genuinely wants to protect his brother though like he told him in ep 1. In ep 2, he tells Corlys "I will speak of the King as I wish. You will not." I think Daemon is insulted and hurt that his brother doesn't trust him to protect him. He sees that Viserys is a weak king and that Otto is using him. Also, when Daemon has a chance to take out Rhaenyra in the 2nd episode as she was suggesting he do, he completely backed down. I think this shows that Daemon actually is loyal to his family despite Otto trying to convince the king otherwise. Otto has been trying to drive a wedge between the two brothers from day 1. There were ulterior motives to Otto not letting the brothers reunite at Dragonstone and there were ulterior motives behind getting daemon to not be the heir. Also, when he accused Daemon of saying "heir for a day" --- we never actually saw Daemon say that on screen which is interesting.
