Did Rhaenyra and Daemon knew about Laenor's scape at the end?!?! During my first watch I thought they didn't but the second time it made me think that they did know... Idk I guess time will tell.
Also, Alicent's true nature coming out! That scene was so badass!!!

this is late and probably useless but it's not confirmed that all Targaryen's a fireproof, just Dany. Laena is also Targaryen, her mother is Rhaenys

2024-06-13 16:46:04 +0000 UTCDeamon and Rhaenyra are actually more than just half Targaryen. They are mostly Targaryen as both their sets of parents had Targaryen blood. Daemon (and Visery's) parents were brother and sister. And then Rhaenyra's parents both had Targaryen blood (if you remember Rhaenyra's mom, Aemma, had the signature Targaryen hair. She was 50% Targaryen herself. Her and Viserys were cousins.

Also, when they said that "the sea offers an escape" they meant it offered an escape for Leanor (as he was able to escape by sea). Rhaenyra ultimately gave Leanor a gift as he was able to live his life freely with his lover and be free from "duty"

2024-06-13 09:02:31 +0000 UTCThat scene right after Alicent attacks Rhaenyra is iconic. You can see the sides being taken with where everyone chooses to stand. On one side everyone who sides with Alicent (like Criston and her kids) and then on the other you have Rhaenyra with her kids, Daemon, the Valerians, etc. Greens vs. blacks. Also, it was very interesting how Criston reacted during this. When Alicent went to attack Rhaenyra, he goes running and the commandor of the King's guard (Herold) commands Criston to stand down - like he knows rather than being loyal to the guard and the king - he is actaully loyal to Alicent. Criston in fact never even stands down, he has to be held back.

2024-06-13 08:41:56 +0000 UTCI think that Daemon is very loyal to the Targaryen family. He is loyal to Rhaenyra (even when she was named heir in his stead and she tempted him to kill her and take it back) and he is loyal to his brother (despite Viserys allowing himself to be convinced otherwise by Otto). I think this is also why he did love his wife Laena (even if he wasn't in love with her). Unlike his first wife (who he hated and killed), Laena was Targaryen and that is what he values. We also see this in the first episode when he is having sex with Myseria (the prostitute) and he cannot get off, so she says that she can bring in someone with silver hair (to mimic a Targaryen). Additionally, it was shown in the last episode that he pays more attention to one of his daughters more than the other. This is because he pays attention to the daughter that has a dragon (i.e the one who is showcasing Targaryen attributes by having a dragon). This is why i think that he leaves Laenor alive. We are shown that Daemon has no probably killing (he killed his first wife) but Leanor is Targaryen and blood of Valaryia. Daemon mentioned in the wedding episode that he in fact sees him as a good man. Ultimately, Dameon is loyal to those he views as Targaryen/family. Additionally, we see his loyalty to his family and heritage with the way that, from the beginning of the season, he went on about taking more than one wife like Aegon the Conqueror did. He has no care for the Westeros religion and traditions. That is why him and Rhaenyra got married this episode through a traditional Valaryian ceremony with the drinking of each others blood and stuff. Plus, he is always speaking valyrian with Rhaenyra when no other characters aside from them are really shown speaking much of it. He then makes sure to teach his daughter it as we saw in one of the last scenes.

2024-06-13 08:29:55 +0000 UTCWhen Aegon and his sisters conquered Westeros they each had a dragon. Aegon the conqueror rode Balerion. Rhaenyra's father was the last to ride him before he died (which is why he doesn't have a dragon now - the dragon died). The last of the three conquerors dragon's is Vhagar. Vhagar was Aegon's sister, Visenya's, dragon. It is currently the biggest dragon currently alive. It is also a dragon that has seen much war because of its old age (and it was used to conquer Westeros), so it is an experienced, skilled dragon. So, it is very much so an asset to team green (Otto was correct that it was worth 100 times the price that Aemond paid). Lastly, although, I am NOT team green, I don't think that Daemon's daughters had any right to be mad about Aemond "stealing" Vhagar. You cannot steal a dragon because a dragon is not property. They are not slaves. You cannot just claim a dragon. It also has to choose you/be willing. Vhagar chose Aemond as much as Aemond chose him. He proved himself. I don't know that the same thing would have happened with the daughter of Deamon's that does not yet have a dragon. She didn't have the gall to just go up to Vhagar and claim him while Aemond did.

2024-06-13 08:16:04 +0000 UTCAlicent is for sure a much more cold mother while Rhaenyra is more of a loving mother. We could see that from the beginning with how Alicent looked miserable holding her babies but right after Rhaenyra gives birth we see her with a huge smile and reaching for her child. Her kids are more kind and emotional because I think she shows them a lot of emotion whereas Alicent does not do the same with her children. We could see in the last episode that when Alicent is talking with her daughter and Alicent looks bored and maybe a little annoyed. And then when Alicent goes to touch her, her daughter jerks away from her touch. Also, at the end of the scene where Alicent attacks Rhaenyra it is like Aemond is taking on a parental role as he comforts his mother, tells her it is okay, and hugs her to comfort her
