The kid that said he wasn’t cool enough to be in the band actually said he wasn’t cool enough to be in the movie. Jack black overheard him and put him in the movie! They got together 10 years later and and performed the songs again for a 10 year reunion. Which was 10 years ago. Which makes the movie like 20 years old.
