Yeah some parts are definitely cringy. For me I still think the part where Tess frames Mitchie and Caitlin for stealing her bracelet to be a dumb plot line of the movie. More than anything else re-watching this movie just takes me back to the summer I was 13 in 2008. This is one of those movies that does that for me and takes me back to my middle school years. That’s interesting about the alternate scene. I didn’t know about it. That would’ve been interesting to see.

2024-08-21 07:00:47 +0000 UTCAs a younger millennial, I was 13 when this came out so I was definitely in the midst of loving Jonas brothers songs and at the perfect age to enjoy/watch this. But I also grew up loving the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC as a really young kid in the late 90s/early 2000s before the Jonas brothers started releasing music. I miss my childhood so much. So many fond memories.

The second movie Is way better, has way better music and is less cringe imo it was huge when it came out, I remember it being all over the news. It’s interesting you mentioned you wanted a scene with Tess and her mom, funny enough that WAS supposed to happen but it was switched with Tess’ apology to the other girls instead.

2024-08-20 22:02:34 +0000 UTCI work at a sleepaway 7 week camp in the summer, the kids are just as rich and snobby as in this movie haha. Not as glamorous since they are not allowed much technology and they do sports 24/7, but we have a big theatre and music program and it feels just like a mixture of camp rock and the parent trap. The staff kids do go for free since tuition is 14/15K but we try not to let it be known if we know who are staff kids, since we don't want the other kids to be weird or mean about it
