Andy thought she deserved to be made Captain mostly because it had been promised to her and honestly, that’s not a strong foundation to build on. As the show later makes clear, it just wasn’t her time. I truly believe Maya was the better choice, even if her Captaincy started off on shaky ground. She eventually became an amazing Captain, and let’s be real, a big part of that was thanks to someone who showed up a couple of episodes later and completely changed her life.

2025-06-09 16:21:13 +0000 UTCI was happy for Maya, but so sad for Andy. She's had so much loss and I get what her dad's intention's were, but he should've been honest with her. I feel like their could have been a good middle ground of maybe making her take a week off and either talk to someone or get evaluated like Jack did after the skyscraper.
