Some landmark additions to the Marvel Universe this episode, although their real impact might not be felt for some time. The Sentinels are here, but are less a tool of mutant oppression and more a story about rogue AI. The Inhumans don't strongly differ from their more modern versions, but their society and reason for being will get fully fleshed out over time. Something I think is interesting and unique about the Inhumans is that their first appearance is all about the strange and specific details of their existence (the odd mish-mash of characters and abilities) rather than core concepts behind their society. It seems a somewhat backwards way to introduce a whole new world of characters, but it generally seems like a success.
Also big news this weekend: Captain Marvel is out, the MCU's first headlining female superhero! My (Zack's) review: I liked it! Didn't knock my socks off, but a solid, if somewhat formulaic, MCU movie. Like a lot of origin flicks, it really just got me jazzed to see CM become a player in the wider MCU sandbox (I'm excited to see Brie Larson butt heads with the other big egos in the Avengers).
