There was a fair bit of controversy surrounding Soyeon in particular following this episode, as when she's talking about how she wants to re-arrange the song (this is 2NE1's debut) she said she wanted to do it in an 'ethnic hip' style - which seemingly meant incorporating stuff like native American chants and other things. What people neglected to consider, of course, was the nature of the original song and its performances. Still, that controversy did not factor in to the scoring of this round, which saw Idle go from placing 1st in the first round to last in this round. I don't think that indicates that it was a bad performance - it absolutely was not, as you can tell. Oh, and Yuqi's hairstyle is a reference to Dara's iconic hairstyle from that era for 2NE1 - she had it all in one tall bunch, known as the 'pineapple hair' - Yuqi's spin on it was doing two towers intead of one.
