ILLIYAN NASTASE: Half-Eldar, Half-Ultramarine, All Retro! | Warhammer 40,000 Retrospective

Long ago, in the mists of the 80s, the Ultra-Marine chapter had a half-eldar, half-human, half-astropath, half-bureaucrat Chief Librarian - Illiyan Nastase. And after 33 years away, he's BACK!

Rogue Trader had four 'mind' traits like Necromunda does now. So you'd test against Ld for morale, but Int to operate technology, or Cool to not panic, or Willpower to resist psychic attacks

Movement 4”, not particularly quick for a half space elf! Also what are int, cl, and wp? And half points?

Okay Ian after your very well put together argument, I won’t be as “pearl clutching” precious with Warhammer law as I have in the past. The “always been female custodies” recent addition is still difficult/jarring for me after the most Custodies focused story (Siege of Terra) comes to an end without any mention of a female character. Like you implied, maybe they were there just managing part of the Imperial Dungeon or Blackstone Prison, we never went to in the telling of the tale. After all it’s JUST a story to let us make up a setting so we can play with plastic soldiers. And while I may feels, with my understanding of things which is not complete, this a big step. It is also very easy to end up looking like a misogynistic asshole.
