For the fluctuatons, I have been saving the money I have earned on Patreon/Itch/Subscribestar to build an emergency fund. So in case it turns out a lot people cancel suddenly (maybe due to economic crisis) I can hold myself over water to find a new job (maybe at half-time) if necessary. And since I'm not cancelling my contract, but instead it's just running out, I also still have pretty good relations with my current employer and could return in half-time or something. So don't worry, I have prepared a bunch of emergency measures :D
