I agree that Ultimate Spider-Man is totally amazing - no pun intended. I also agree that MCU and Miles were the biggest lasting impact of the Ultimate U. It did lose it's way toward the end, but it had such an awesome and strong start. Marvel tried the "Year One" stories in the late 1990s, but the Ultimate U took it to an entirely different level. One of the things that I really liked was the original decree of "if they die, they die." This may be a minority opinion, but The Ultimates was my least favorite of all the series.

Great topic! I love love love The Ultimates Vols 1 & 2. Totally agree the MCU and Miles are the biggest legacies. I think they already teased existence/possible return of the Ultimate Universe in one of the Miles books last year (maybe Bendis’ last Marvel Book?). In any case I’m sure it will be back in some form sooner or later!
