GEEK HISTORY LESSON EXTRA - Jason's Thoughts on Anime

This is a question Jason gets asked a lot in AMAs and by GHL Students, so we go on the record once and for all about what Jason likes and dislikes about the mediums of anime and manga.

GEEK HISTORY LESSON EXTRA - Jason's Thoughts on Anime

There's a chance we made a mistake! Thanks for clarifying for us.

You were thinking of Trigun not Full Metal Alchemist. The main character of Trigun is Vash, the Stampede. It's very much a space Western. It's set in the future after mankind fled Earth and the life ships crash landed on a desert planet. I don't know if you guys would like it because it does have very goofy moments but I would highly recommend it. Plus it's pretty short just 26 episodes.

Thanks for the recommendations, Cody!

Interesting, I feel like I’ve been issued a challenge. If I had to choose an anime to recommend Jason I think it would have to be Tiger & Bunny. While many would probably choose My Hero Academia, both being about superheroes, I think Jason would gravitate more towards T&B because it doesn’t have the stereotypical storytelling that MHA uses a lot and T&B is actually a rare case in that the main characters are adults. If I had to do a one sentence pitch it would be this: An aged Hero is teamed up with the young up and coming star in a world where superheroes are corporate endorsements.
