2019-09-29 22:20:40 +0000 UTCI think Disney remakes have the potential, but Disney only wants guarenteed money which means mostly shot for shot remakes. There are scenes in Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin that I thought were interesting, especially because they diverged from the original movies, but more often than not I'm just bored by the same story they're telling in less interesting ways. I think Disney's biggest success with these remakes is Pete's Dragon. It has the same story structure, but they took it in a whole new direction where it's something new, but still Pete's Dragon.
