News and Goals

Cognosticon here, coming on your break day for a quick announcement. I expected a drop in support after the Cloudspire arc finished, but it was larger than expected. I've been doing this for a long time now and I don't really expect a reversal, so I'm focusing on two things:

1) Preparing for the big publisher release.

2) Thanking patrons who are supporting this story.

For a start, I quietly gave $3 backers a huge boost in the total number of chapters available to them. For $25 backers, I'm going to pledge to be more consistent: a new bonus story (delving into the mechanics of dual cultivation) was posted just before this, and I promise to keep up a pace of one per month through the conclusion of the fifth arc.

Of course, most people are in the $10 tier, and all I can promise you is more chapters. There may need to be another week break at some point, but otherwise I can promise a steady stream of chapters for many months.

Thanks for reading.

And that's completely fair; I appreciate that sort of support as well.

Hey, I can personally say my habit of supporting you (and other writers) is that I'll subscribe for a month, then cancel and let a few go by before resubscribing. This both lets me binge, as I don't really have the patience for the drip of a serial, and allows me to better afford my support in a sustainable way.

As invested in the story as ever ! I understand that the Cloudspire had something of a flavor shift, leaned more on the commentary of the genre and its various expressions, and featured endless cultivator ego, but I don't believe it was associated with a drop in quality. Maybe some people are waiting for the new arc to build some chapters so they can binge, which is fair enough. Very interested in the direction that was announced a while back, with some light on side-characters, which were less of a focus in Cloudspire (understandably so).
