I hope you all have had a great June, and I hope ya took some time to celebrate yourself, to have pride for who you are and also took some time for remembrance for the brave trans women who fought hard to kick off what has resulted in us, as LGBT+ people, actually gaining basic rights and having legal protection from being discriminated against when trying to build our lives. While the fight must still wage on, for we aren't where we should be, without the women at Stonewall, I doubt we'd have ANY of this now. Their sacrifices and bravery are a HUGE part of Pride and should never be left out. <3

I'm so exited for July just generally speaking, too! My birthday is coming up (on the 23rd) and I'll be camping with my best friend, her gf and my partner for a few days!!
I'll take more pics this time, I promise <3
Other than that, I just am stoked for summer proper!! I mean, not the heat -but the summer fun and we've been having SO MANY storms recently so I'm hoping it'll level out a bit without getting drought levels of hot and dangerous like last year. This has been a really odd year for CO weather though. Our Skii/snowboard season lasted until the start of June.. So, really, who knows what it'll be like for the rest of summer?

Enough random chatter!
I got my hands on the public beta for iPad OS 13 yesterday and WEW LADS, listen. If you have an ipad you do art on- I recommend getting this update. There are VERY MINIMAL bugs with this beta (but it's still a beta, so it does  bug occasionally here and there. Nothing that threatens work or work flow.)((i'll provide a link to sign up if you want to get it for your ipad!))
First, they finally added a dark mode to the native apps and THANK YOU MY EYES THANK YOU APPLE!! It's so much nicer to read and it looks so slick with the darker look to the apps.
The app layout looks more appropriate for larger screens and its easier to access the shortcuts/widgets which is nice, cause I can finally use the to-do list a bit more effectively. I'm a nerd who loves organizational stuff... I admit this fully.
I havent been able to test this myself, but you can  now use a mouse with the ipad if you have a usb3 to usb-c adapter and that might be nice for the future esp if I do more vector/logo work in affinity designer!

But, seriously, the biggest boost and the SOLE reason why I think it's worth getting is this: They reduced the pen-to-screen latency down to 9ms (from 20ms) making them LIGHTYEARS faster than what cintiq boasts (20ms was already faster than what wacom has with their screen tabs) but 9 is INSANE. Seriously it feels instant, much more natural and VERY VERY akin to traditional art in feel.
I had no clue they could improve on an already seriously impressive piece of hardware with some software changes like this but I LOVE IT.
I absolutely recommend it!
Annnnnd, this leads me to the art I've attached to this post! I created it after the update yesterday, using a brush in procreate I previously found... odd to use. The pen changes have made procreate brushes react a bit better and It might be worth checking that out yourself, too. You might find a brush you like that you previously didn't! I'm excited to try out more brushes now, just wholly.
