Here’s a recent warmup commission for our very own Zaskyl of his oc, which is a rad kangaroo!

I don’t often get opportunity to draw this species but I really hope to get more opportunity! It’s a lot of fun and challenging to draw kangaroos, they’re such different creatures, but I feel like that could be said for most marsupials!

A kangaroo has really interesting teeth, too. Species like that can be a challenge with furry art, I feel. A lot of artists default to canine features because they’re more conventionally aesthetically pleasing but the way I see it is this: if you wanna look like a dog, be a dog. I want to make sure I’m accurately portraying a species for what it is!

So I wanna practice with more Roos, deer and rabbits especially. I feel like they all have some similar shapes but are vastly different, so it’ll help to practice them as they are! So, look for some different sketch pages that’ll crop up here as I do studies! And, by the way, those studies will be made possible by you all here! Patreon gives me the time to spend bettering my craft. I’ve recently been practicing cheetahs because I felt I have a tendency to make them kinda leopard-like!
