Something a bit different this time..
ππ¦π
I really was itching to draw something spooky cause, well, IT'S THE SPOOKY MONTH!
πππππ
So, I made this goopy zombie deer!
Materials used:
Posca pens, white and black size 1MR
Copic neutral grey markers, 2, 4
Micron 0.25mm black
This goopy cryptid is loosely based off of a mule deer but I've taken some features from other deer species with it's shape. (This isn't a realistic representative of actual anatomy!)
I wanted to have fun making something a bit different and this really achieved that goal!

Here are some WiP/process shots:
Rough sketch, using a standard yellow no.2 pencil! (Feat. a cool cup!)
The button is better than the sticker since my sketchbook is small!
Starting the linework with that tiny liner micron! It was kind of intimidating, I haven't drawn with anything that small in a long time. I actually was scared I ruined the picture here..
I kept on trucking through my worries with the linework and loosened up a bit, I kinda even embraces the roughness a bit here! The biggest thing to remember with ink work is there's no erasing. So you have to embrace, and work with your mistakes. Make them no longer mistakes!
I also refined the antlers with pencil a bit!
Linework base done! I erased the under sketch, too!
Accidentally forgot to take a pic after I started addressing the line weight (thickness) and I've begun shading with the grey maker.
Line weight has been adjusted and shading has progressed! I put a lot of detail into this so I also wanted to show a close up π
Shading complete, bg done as well!!
Finally, white highlights are added to add a shiny texture to th goop and the flesh. I wanted this to be a slimy gross zombie deer from the start, so I'm glad the highlights could accomplish that yuck look!

Gah, this was fun!!
I know I'm not going to be able to do inktober every single day (especially cause I will be working on patreon rewards for people and the reward bases I want for everyone this month) so I want the inktober submissions I can do, to be better than just loose sketches!
I hope you all enjoyed the process of this yucky guy! Happy SPOOKY TIME!
