Inktober WiPs and a Blog Post! (Stream updates!)

Hey guys!
I hope your October is going well so far!!
Things in my neck of the woods are remaining challenging in certain ways but optimistic.
Life demands that I hold a Halloween commission stream soon, so I'll be doing two streams this week!
While on the subject, some of you may have caught my recent chatter in Discord about streaming as well as tweets regarding it.
I've been more or less trying to find out what's right for me.

Schedule, sites to stream on and services to use have all been in the process of refinement. Since streaming weekly has been a thing for me for the last few months, I've been needing to make it work best for me and give me what I want and need.

I've found that the OBS software Streamlabs is best for me as the base. Unfortunately, picarto doesn't work best with streamlabs, basically only offering a neutered version of it's features due to only having "limited support" for the platform.
Any inquiries with either streamlabs or picarto for information regarding it's support in the future pretty much boils down to " make a suggestion post on our forums & if it's voted up enough it'll happen"
Yikes.
Streamlabs really, really makes streaming easier.
If picarto and streamlabs played nicer, it would be no question that picarto is where I would remain. But.. that's not the case.
On top of that, I prefer to stream with a buddy or a few! I find it makes for a more fun stream environment and drawing with other artists in a big virtual art jam really helps me keep the flow! Picarto does allow multi streaming.. but you have to pay monthly for that service. I know a few of you were down to subscribe on picarto to me but... Guys, please don't do that! I appreciate it and I appreciated it at the time too but they take a FAT cut of that money, I don't get but a fraction of it, to the tune that it barely covered the subscription cost.

Picarto's only thing going is that it allows me to draw porn... But honestly that's probably why streamlabs keeps it's distance.. I wish sexuality wasn't treated like this.
But I get it in a way. If you allow NSFW art streams, it's a slippery slope to having to allow things like live porn or cams.
And it makes them have to police what is and isn't art.
I understand.

I will still occasionally stream on picarto if I'm doing NSFW commission streams.

But, all or that being said that leaves us with a handful of lower traffic, otherwise obscure streaming platforms and a couple of really big names. Twitch, YouTube, unknown names like piczel (that currently has two live streamers at the time I'm writing this.)
Unknown names don't have the support I need with streamlabs so that leaves big names only.
YouTube doesn't feel right at all and twitch is super saturated with streamers, and watchers of a different sort. If there's anywhere a furry centric art streamer would catch flack, it's twitch. Though, I did get it set up in my trial to minimize any hate or awkward situations. I wasn't worried about that.

Twitch honestly would be the place I'd choose, but multi streaming with other artists isn't feasible for me..
It (at this time) requires you to be a twitch partner to stream with others... I just can't pull those numbers as a relatively small time artist. Not yet anyway!

That leaves me with one place. Mixer.
While I feel some of the site is kind of honestly obnoxious, it's not that bad. My biggest concern is that some folk have had issues signing up or the process of signing up has been difficult.
I flat out do not like that..
But, the stream quality is better than available on picarto, more stable. Streaming with others is free. No subscription cost at all to have custom graphics on my page (picarto charges for that, too).
It works 100% with streamlabs and allows me to have less stuff running on my PC while streaming too.

So, thank you all for riding along with me while I go through all of this. Especially those rad folk who watched me wherever I was when I was trying these sites out!
Maybe picarto one day will upgrade and I'll return or twitch will allow multi streaming for all users and we can decide as a group where to go. But for now, mixer is the place!
