Upcoming Patreon wide Sales Tax: Some info.

I just got an email from the Patreon Team, with some info about some changes that will be coming platform wide. They have required me to put my patreon benefits into "categories".
more info here: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043054911-New-Sales-Tax-Requirements-effective-July-1st-2020

These changes go into effect starting 07/01/2020.
I would REALLY love it if you guys were to give me feedback on what these changes actually LOOK LIKE from your side as supporters, and if there is some issue, please come to me about it. I want to see what I can do to mitigate issues as we go forward (but I have ofc complied with the changes they asked of me so my page won't be pulled down.)

Who is affected?

Whether  or not a patron pays sales tax depends on where they are located, and  what you offer in your tiers. The laws and tax rates for that patron’s  location will be applied whenever a patron pays money through Patreon,  whether that’s monthly or per thing, if the benefits offered are taxable  in the patron’s location.

Within the US, we estimate that less than half of all patrons will have sales tax added to their pledge. Outside the US, it very much depends on the country where a patron is located. For most patrons the impact will be minimal, and many patrons won’t see any sales tax added to their pledge at all.

They recommended that I post this scripted thing which I want to be transparent about should you see this script other places:

"I wanted to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges.  Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon  will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st.

Less  than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the  amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in the US range  from 4% to 11%, so on a $5 pledge, that would be between 20 cents and 55  cents.

Whether  or not you will be charged sales tax depends on your location, and what  is considered taxable there. Not every pledge is taxable, not all benefits are taxable in every location, and sometimes only a fraction of a pledge will be taxable. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws are paid directly to local governments.

I’m  working closely with Patreon to ensure I’m able to save you as much  money as possible when it comes to sales tax - which is not something  that’s possible with other platforms.

If you’re in a location where sales tax will be required, you  should expect to receive an email from Patreon with more information  about this very soon, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of these  changes way ahead of July 1st when they go into effect.

If you have questions, you should be able to find answers here. If you still have questions, the best place to get an answer is from Patreon’s customer support team, here

Thank you for all of your support."

While it is informative, I feel like there is some obvious corporate level hogwash present. "I'm working closely with patreon.." is a stretch at best when all I've had as far as contact with them is the emails they push out to everyone. Not any actual communication.
I'm pretty much as in the dark as all of you. That's why I need to know how it goes down for each of you. I set up my benefits using their recommended settings. I do not want taxes to hit any of you hard, so please let me know personally how these changes effect you, if at all.

The linked articles are very informative.

Thank you all for hanging tight with me. The support i've gotten here has changed my life as a creator for the better and I have every intention to make sure this stays as fair as possible for all of you.
