Happy December! - Blogpost

But anyway!

How are you all? I feel like this year has been speeding by so damn fast.. before I knew it it’s December already and woah. What a year. So much change and so much in general going on.

So much self discovery and growth. So many things I wish I could have done better.. I’m so thankful for everything successful here but still wish I could have done better. I will do better. I feel more and more motivated and more and more myself as the days progress onward.

I’ll try to keep this a bit short as I don’t have a ton of events to share but because this is nearing the end of the year, I can’t help but set my eyes on the future. What do I want to see going forward?

Well, for patreon, I want to continue my momentum going forward and continue to improve myself. I have been doing so even if progress is slow and I have to acknowledge that.. and not get held up on what I wish I could have done better. I did find myself beating down on myself a bit too much on occasion and it stunted the forward growth I was experiencing. I am getting there definitely.

I realized that, artistically, I need to spend more time creating pieces that are expressions of creativity for me and not get so focused only on what I can make for others. I will continue to create for those on the reward tiers here and still offer commissions as I can once I clear my queue, but, I need to make more stuff like the bloody black panther I recently finished. Working on parts of that picture gave me a huge sense of fulfillment and I realized I want to be able to do more and offer prints of Images like that. Not specifically bloody cats or specifically more highly rendered paintings but more so just images that come from the urge to create like that.

I’m proud of what I accomplished with that picture. I want to feel that way about more artwork. And that doesn’t mean my commission work doesn’t give me pride. It absolutely does, it’s just a different kind of achievement for me.

I take great joy in making things for others that they really love. Recently a lot of you prtociapated in a Twitter chain where you guys shared art I made for you that you enjoyed and that was so motivating to see. That really made me feel so good! Thank you all for enjoying what I make so much ❤️

Moving forward, I want to offer more high res downloads and soon, prints of work that I create and I want to also hear from you all as far as prompts and even produce more fanart for different media. I also want to hone my skills away from animal art and create more humanoids. I was able to practice a bit but I definitely need to do more. I will always love drawing animals and furry art but I have a great need to expand my skills and do even more. I dabbled in drawing some Final Fantasy XIV characters and I really enjoyed the challenge of drawing with a bit of an anime style! Challenges are fun and I feel like every bit I do has made me better at the things I’m familiar with as well!

Other than prints, I want to offer some art tutorials soon! I was approached and asked how I tackle both linework as well as shading and I would love to explain my process with each.

In the short term, I will soon be sharing the adoptable base I have been dabbling with for you all to download here and I will be finishing up a Timelapse video of my bloody cat pic as well!

Since the new year is upon us, I do want to hear back from you guys to see what you guys specifically want to see me offer. I worry a lot about making sure being part of patreon is worth it for all of you and I don’t want to let any of you down.
