Dev Diary 3 & Release Poll

Hi, TD here.

Just wanted to touch base on how development on chapter 2 is coming along, as well as what you might expect.

We currently sit at 795 images to pair with a script that's at over half the size of chapter 1.

Overall, there are five planned chapters, with each chapter spanning a week of time. The conceit here is that every chapter will end with an "exhibition" event, similar to the Lucy vs Veronica set of scenes found at the end of Chapter 1. The days leading up to each week's exhibition will be used to develop individual heroine storylines, as well as the overarching plot involving the player character's place at the club.

Chapter 2, as a whole, promises to be longer than Chapter 1. This is all to preface one big question: when can you expect the next update?

Well, our official release schedule is currently a tentative thing. Whenever it's ready. That doesn't mean each update HAS to be a full chapter, however.

There is a clear line that can be satisfactorily drawn (content/pacing wise) between the first five days that build into that chapter's exhibition and the actual exhibition scenes themselves. This may seem lopsided way of splitting up content, but each exhibition is a long and complicated set of scenes.

So I wanted to ask, which do you personally prefer? Would you like each update to be an entire, full chapter or would you prefer we split each chapter into two updates?

Up to 10-11 weeks I think is good for a full update, maybe break it up if it goes longer than 3 months.

2. If next update is as good as initial release I'll up my pledge.

1. Basically the same as Cloudmoon's comment on releases.

I would rather wait twice as long and play a complete story through to a logical break than be interrupted halfway through because that's where the publisher stopped to meet deadlines. Good art and good stories take time, and I'm happy to wait for a quality product. That said, I imagine most people would rather get continual, periodic updates on a known schedule, and that way will probably lead to more/more regular patreon subscribers and income. If that requires the split and you can do it so it's not so abrupt a stopping point, I'll take that too.

I voted for the entire chapter for each update. But My vote's tentative. If updates get done in around 2 months or less, that works. But if it takes you up to 3 months or more for each chapter, I think it would be better to break them up. Just depends on how fast you guys can work.

Correct me if im wrong, but if you started to work in chapter 2 since the release of chapter 1, that would make around 50% of a chapter in on month or month and half. Sounds good to me a full chapter around 2 month. I already know the worktime could be altered by a lot of issues, don't burn me in the bonfire yet please ^^

What's the rush? I can wait if I know that it will be out in a reasonable amount of time.
