Pale Carnations [Ch4.Up2] Public Release

Hey all, we are happy to present the public release of Ch4Up2.

Apart from the usual typo fixes, this version contains a revision of the update's concluding scene, done out of interest for the role-playing experience and offering the player character an even-headed approach in this meeting. You won't miss anything critical by not going back and replaying it, but if you do wish to see it, load a save before Edwin arrives at his apartment. Otherwise, you'll just load into the old scene. This revision added 34 images and about 1000 words to the previous count.

Overall, Ch4Up2 contains:

-2,103 static images
-63 animations
-55,600 words
- 6 new musical tracks

 - Significant club content featuring 4 branching scenes depending on who lost week 2’s exhibition. Unlocking one will unlock the other 3 in the scene replay gallery for those who don’t want to go through the pain in the ass of manipulating an entire week’s worth of choices.

 - Significant Mina content, with branches of varying lengths depending on whether you rejected/she cheated on Ian, as well as your relationship status with Hana.

With this update cycle finally behind us, we are eager to finally move onto Ch4Up3. With the next one, our goal is to get back to multi-day updates that advance a plurality of character plotlines. We will save the details for next week's developer diary, but it's safe to say that the previously pushed-back Veronica content will be ONE of the update's defining features. I'm excited to work with the big lady in a new context, but fans of a few other characters should come out relatively satisfied as well.

Thank you for all the incredible support this month. We are humbled by your generosity. The project broke 1,000 patrons for the first time this month and we remain committed as ever to seeing the project grow.

Instructions for ANDROID version:

Due to the growing size of the project, additional steps will need to be taken to get Pale Carnations to work on your device. Instead of simply installing the apk, you will also need to move a second file containing the game's images, animations, music, and sound effects to a specified location. Tentatively speaking, I've been told old saves will still work. The steps that need to be taken are below:
 
1) There are two files needed for the install: download both palecarnations.v01-release.apk and the archive.rpa.

2) Install the APK and launch Pale Carnations. It will ask for storage permission. Allow it and wait for the ren'py loading screen to finish and then exit the app. Doing this creates a folder called [renpy_saves] in your internal storage, which you will need to move the archive.rpa to.

3) Copy the archive.rpa file in the zip and go to the documents folder in the internal storage of your device. Open the renpy_saves folder. Inside will be a folder labeled [palecarnations.v01].

4) Open the folder labeled [game] and paste the archive.rpa file into it. Now when you start the game, everything will play normally.
